Finally put the bike back together after having to split the engine to replace the water pump but it idles fine but when I try to accelerate it bogs then after a few seconds the revs starts to climb but then becomes erratic and then bogs and dies then the bike restarts and it will tick over and can leave it ticking over with no issues but bogs again if I apply any throttle
I have completely cleaned the carb but still the same
Did have it ticking over a few times and did notice a slight knocking noise coming from cylinder
Didn't put new crank bearings or oil seals in as they looked fine
Any help would be much appreciated

This is why I changed the water pump seal
i was riding the bike then got stopped at some traffic lights went to pull away when they turned green but the bike would not move so pushed the bike on the path and notice smoke coming from the engine so turned off the bike and checked the radiator and noticed there was no water in the bike so phoned my wife and got her to bring me some water and got her to follow me to my mums with the bike but as I tried to ride the bike it still would not move even with water in it but after a few minutes the bike did move but could only get 15mph out of it at full throttle then if I got stopped at any lights it would not pull away for a few minutes
so fixed the water pump but am still having the issues with no power when I pull the throttle so would the over heating of the bike cause the issues that I am still having
do I need to buy a new piston and a new cylinder

If you "split the engine" I assume you had a good look at the state of the bore, piston and rings.
