But... That's how you're supposed to drive a van.

He didn't even brake! perhaps his brakes failed, it also looked like him and the cam guy might have been jockeying for position, ie the van was trying to undertake, cos the cam guy looked to be going at a fair lick

Yeah, I noticed his lack of braking. That roundabout look like it was a fairly major one so I would expect it's fairly well sign posted on the approach to it.

Even if they were into with each other you would have thought, the driver might have had the sense to know he wouldn't be able to enter a roundabout at that speed.

Also on the subject of airbourne vehicles

I went across that about a month ago, also in a van. No, really, around, not like that van...

Coming up to the roundabout, there are signs on each side of the road saying "Roundabout" and "Reduce speed now". Then it's onto the yellow lines going across the road, then there are 300-200 yard markers, big-roundabout-road-direction-signs+speed camera signs, then 100 yard markers, signs to Banham Zoo and the Rose Gardens, still with yellow lines across the road, then the roundabout with bloody great chevrons stuck all over it and surrounded by lamp-posts.

It's well over 1/4 mile, more like 500 yards, from the first warning signs to the give way sign on the roundabout.

Not that I remember the details, of course, I looked it up on Google maps:

Death by roundabout.
I can sympathise with that, there's a multi roundabout in Hemel Hempstead that makes me want to off myself.

Oh don't get me started on that piece of urban shit. Laughing

No good for the van jumping Olympics though. We have a good few roundabouts in MK you could get a really good run up at though. Perhaps it we put a challenge out on You tube we could get some Pikeys to join in and kill themselves. Thumbs Up

You've both clearly never had the missfortune to go to Swindon...

It was much "nicer" when it was just a big flat area, with what appeared at first panicked sight to have random white lines all over it and shocked people crossing while staring fixedly ahead. When I first encountered it, I hadn't seen or heard of it before. A couple of left turn/U-turn sequences ensued.

My goodness, the A4361 up out of the place and the A361 are lovely roads. Not enough like that.

Once you get your head around it it's brilliant. If traffic for a couple of the exits is queuing up you can go around it 'the wrong way' to get to yours

A woman did similar coming down the hill into Dover a few years ago. She hit the roundabout with such speed, she landed upside down in the upper floor of my mate's work car park, after somersaulting several times and wiping out several other cars.

She wasn't so lucky. It seemed a bit odd. Woman on her own, not from the area heading to Dover just after a break up. Suspected suicide by roundabout.
