Zero is a number (ish) but infinity isn't, they both represent different things entirely.
If infinity is everything containing zero, it doesn't become zero alone.

Zero is an amount. Infinity is the amount of futility to be found in considering this 'problem.

Good, a response that I can at least relate to, and anything that stops that crap swirling around in your head for a moment is a good thing for you too.

Begs the question. If infinity can equal zero as you have derived. What happens if it ever does equal zero?

I still believe that 'everything', infinity, tends toward zero. Before the so called 'big bang' the point in which the universe fell from originated as infinitesimally dense. Does density tend towards zero?

No I used set theory to show that the empty set exists within the infinite set. Within.

Everything does tend toward zero, it's called entropy.

Entropy is a fine word. Must admit had to google that one.

So is entropy similar to chaos theory?

I don't think so. Chaos theory is the study of systems that can have very different outcomes after making an almost insignificant alteration. The universe is surely in some sort of 'chaos theory' situation, but it doesn't link much to entropy.

Entropy is basically a measure of how many possible arrangements a system can take.

As the universe ages and cools down, there's less and less energy to allow for stuff, anything, to happen. And so the entropy slowly decreases to 1.

After much deliberation I've realised the it doesn't matter a damn anyway. Interesting thought though.

I'm now wondering whether a quarter of hash is a decent decision as an ounce is less expensive.

I am actually certified crazy.

So what do people think of resonance, relative to brain wave patterns?

Brainwaves are the electrical output of brain activity which sort of looks like a wave pattern, a very chaotic one. Like this:

https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/2/26/Spike-waves.png

Resonance is when an external oscillation has a frequency that matches the natural frequency of an object nearby, causing that nearby object to oscillate at greater or increasing amplitude.

For example, if you pull back a swing and let go, it'll go back and forth at a particular rate. That's the natural frequency. If you then push it each time it comes back to you, so it swings higher each time, you're adding a periodic driving force which is essentially a classic example of resonance.

Now going back to the brainwave picture above, you can see there's some amount of periodicity to the waves, but it's too chaotic to do anything with. At best you could place an electrode on someone's skull and apply an alternating current that sort of matches the frequency of the brain waves, but it would be like applying a hammer to a piece of cotton wool - pointless. The alternative would be to use a tiny nanofrequency electric current, but then the opposite problem would occur - it would be like using the same hammer on a big field of mud - way too much extra mud (extra brainwaves) interfering.

Resonance tends to only work with good mechanical systems without too many external factors or moving parts. The brain has billions of synapses all firing, it would be nigh-on impossible to single any of them out to do anything special with.

Sorry for thread bumping but I've spent my day watching infinity theorists on the telly. I now have realised that I am in fact correct and that infinity as a whole number can equal zero. Case closed I am correct and we're all doomed like a bat out of hell.

Like a bat out of hell I'll be gone when the morning comes.
