Wind's getting up a bit at the mo. Do you leave the bike on the sidestand or centre stand?

I think the side stand is supposed to be much more stable and expected to be used for parking, the centre stand being for maintenance. Being on the centre stand might also give more area for the wind to push

Careful with leaving your bike on its side stand if on a slope. My bike rolled off its side stand once.

Lesson learnt... be extra careful.

VFR has one of them fancy 'flexible' side stands and seems to be perfectly happy even in gale force winds.

Lay it on the ground, chain it to a lamp post, and drain it of oil

That should stop it getting damaged by falling over

Whacking a cover on is the best way of making it fall over. That on the centrestand guarantees a mouse fart would knock it over.

If I’m away from home and have to park outside, I try to park next to a fence or hedge (not always possible) when it’s windy.
