So some more progress today as I'm off work I thought I'd get some more bits painted. I started with the front mudguard mounting plate. Originally I had this powder coated satin black but When I stripped the bike I ended up having to grind the original bolts off & when I got it back from the coaters you could see grinding marks/indents on it. So I rubbed it down filled it up & spayed it chrome as I think the bike will have enough black on it.

https://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g308/bennyboy73/IMGP1754.jpg

I also did the radiator caps at the same time as these were damaged with some nasty gouges in. I didn't get a before shot.

https://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g308/bennyboy73/IMGP1755.jpg
https://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g308/bennyboy73/IMGP1756.jpg

I fitted the foot pegs & brake/gear levers. Also fitted the inner splash shield & CDI & fitted the coil, reg/rec & PV servo.

https://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g308/bennyboy73/IMGP1759.jpg

A friend of mine owns his own shot blasting & powder coating business & very kindly allowed me to use one of his booths today so I could paint the wheels.

A coat of etching primer followed by 4 coats of proper 2k high build primer.
https://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g308/bennyboy73/IMG_0044.jpg

A good flat down then paint.
https://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g308/bennyboy73/IMG_0045.jpg

Finally a couple of coats of proper 2k lacquer.

This is coming on really nicely! Thumbs Up

The painted bits look great. What colour have you gone for on the wheels? A little hard to tell on the pics if it's just black or is it more of an anthracite colour?

.... I take it you have checked it will fit through the doorways etc to get out of your front room when you're done? Laughing Laughing

The wheels are graphite/anthracite the colour is called grigio lothar or lothar grey it's an alfa romeo colour that we used to do the roofs of the SZ coupes in. No problems with getting the bike out the door & down the stairs I did the last one in my lounge as well.

Hi all quite a major update. The bodywork is all repaired & primed & as it was such a lovely day today it was too good not to get some painting done. The colour is VW atlas grey (code LY7Q). Although it's quite an old colour I think it'll make the bike look quite modern. I didn't paint the side panels as I'm still waiting for the decals to be made.

First hit of filler primer.

https://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g308/bennyboy73/IMGP1760.jpg

For some reason all the shots of the repairs/filler got wiped. Brick Wall But a second hit of filler primer.

https://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g308/bennyboy73/IMGP1761.jpg

Then flatted down & paint.

https://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g308/bennyboy73/IMGP1762.jpg
https://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g308/bennyboy73/IMGP1763.jpg

Decals applied.

https://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g308/bennyboy73/IMGP1764.jpg
https://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g308/bennyboy73/IMGP1765.jpg

Then the masking up, you can probably work out where this is going.

https://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g308/bennyboy73/IMGP1766.jpg
https://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g308/bennyboy73/IMGP1767.jpg
https://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g308/bennyboy73/IMGP1770.jpg

Then second colour.

https://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g308/bennyboy73/IMGP1768.jpg

De-masked.

https://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g308/bennyboy73/IMGP1769.jpg
https://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g308/bennyboy73/IMGP1771.jpg

& finally a couple of coats of lacquer.

https://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g308/bennyboy73/IMGP1772.jpg
https://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g308/bennyboy73/IMGP1773.jpg

Also painted the brake calipers. The camera flash makes them look very bright but they're actually quite a dull satin red.

https://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g308/bennyboy73/IMGP1774.jpg
https://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g308/bennyboy73/IMGP1775.jpg
https://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g308/bennyboy73/IMGP1776.jpg
https://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g308/bennyboy73/IMGP1777.jpg

Just got to get the piston & seals out so I can fit the new ones & get some new bleed nipples & covers.

Wow. That paint job is awesome! Are you using a spray gun and compressor or just spray can?

Hi thanks the brake calipers were out of an aerosol, Halfords do some good rattle can paints. The body work is all proper HS paint & lacquer from out of a gun I wouldn't even try it with aerosols (it's what I do for a living). Smile

Dude you need to keep this one! RG125FUN's and Wolfs are too rare to let go now, and they will be by their scarcity one of the expensive 125's when the 125 2stroke price explosion occurs in the nest few years! Original Mito's and TZR125R 4HW's etc will also be rare and priced accordingly.

Don't sell it, or I might have to buy it if you do! Laughing

Either put your camera in Macro mode, or take a step back from what you are shooting. Laughing

That makes sense then. What's the company? I may be looking to have some paintwork done.

Final update for a while as I start a new job on Monday 183miles from home, besides I don't have any money left so can't afford the rest of the bits the bike needs at the moment. Things left to buy are brake lines, front brake disc, tyres & a new petrol tank.

I had the tank shotblasted & began trying to remove/pull the dents.

https://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g308/bennyboy73/IMG_0047.jpg
https://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g308/bennyboy73/IMG_0048.jpg

Unfortunately there wasn't much metal left as the bloody thing has rusted from the inside out so I scrapped it.
This morning it was lovely again & the wind had dropped so I painted the rear panels

https://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g308/bennyboy73/IMGP1778.jpg
https://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g308/bennyboy73/IMGP1781.jpg

Applied the decals.

https://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g308/bennyboy73/IMGP1780.jpg
https://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g308/bennyboy73/IMGP1782.jpg

& finally a couple of coats of lacquer.

https://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g308/bennyboy73/IMGP1783.jpg
https://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g308/bennyboy73/IMGP1784.jpg

Once the money starts coming in again over the next couple of months I'll get everything I need to finish it off.

Not much of an update but since the weather has taken a turn for the better I thought I'd make a start on the bike again. Still require quite a few bits but as I still don't have a reliable income I'm not able to purchase the parts I need. The next things will be a front brake disc so I can finish the front wheel & a set of tyres so I can get the bike back onto it's wheels.

Anyway I've painted the blanking ring which goes around the left hand side of the front wheel.

Flatted down:
https://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g308/bennyboy73/IMGP1814.jpg

Primer:
https://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g308/bennyboy73/IMGP1816.jpg

Then filler:
https://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g308/bennyboy73/IMGP1817.jpg

Primed again:
https://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g308/bennyboy73/IMGP1821.jpg

Flatted down then paint, went for a textured finish:
https://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g308/bennyboy73/IMGP1825.jpg

Primed the tank:
https://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g308/bennyboy73/IMGP1819.jpg
https://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g308/bennyboy73/IMGP1820.jpg
https://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g308/bennyboy73/IMGP1823.jpg

There were a couple of small dents so a bit of filler & guide coat:
https://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g308/bennyboy73/IMGP1822.jpg

Flatted it all down then masked the outside up & painted/lacquered the underneath. If it's nice again tomorrow I'll do the top.
https://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g308/bennyboy73/IMGP1832.jpg
https://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g308/bennyboy73/IMGP1833.jpg

I've had to buy a new loom, headlight & left hand switch gear. Ended up having to get these parts from the French eBay.
https://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g308/bennyboy73/IMGP1835.jpg

I stripped the headlight & had the outer ring shot blasted & powder coated gloss black:
https://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g308/bennyboy73/IMGP1836.jpg
https://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g308/bennyboy73/IMGP1837.jpg

That's it for now. I'm aiming to get it done for the summer.

Today I painted the tank. It's alright not perfect there are a couple of small bleed throughs as it was a bit cold which lifted the fine line tape.

First coat of paint:
https://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g308/bennyboy73/IMGP1839.jpg

After another three coats & a final drop coat:
https://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g308/bennyboy73/IMGP1840.jpg

Applied the decals:
https://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g308/bennyboy73/IMGP1841.jpg

Masked it up:
https://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g308/bennyboy73/IMGP1842.jpg

Applied the black:
https://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g308/bennyboy73/IMGP1843.jpg

De-masked & a couple of coats of lacquer (between rain showers):
https://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g308/bennyboy73/IMGP1844.jpg

Didn't keep on top of this thread but the bike is on the road but not finished. I still need to make a new bellypan, could do with a UK spec Speedo, buy a new PV servo & get the matching front wheel machined so the disc sits properly.

Awesome looking bike! And it's brilliant to get an update after all this time, but much more so that you still own it!

There can't be a nicer Wolf with such a stunning paint job out there! Thumbs Up

Will you get the exhaust high temperature coated eventually like you did on the white one all those years ago?

Beautiful Wolf there mate. I loved those bikes as a kid - my first pillion experience was on the back of one getting a ride from my mate's brother. His was black / green.

Ahh nostalgia... Mr. Green

Bike looks great, what a transformation!

Guessing by your earlier comments a few years ago that you used to work for Akzo Nobel? Suppliers to Aston, McLaren etc. My Mrs works there, apologies if I'm barking up the wrong tree!
