2 Stroke Fuel/Oil Ratio Calculator
Based on the engine oils viscosity at the higher upper cylinder temps my calculator can recommend the needed fuel/oil ratio. This method agrees basically with the best manufacturers but it can be specific to your engine as RPM and type cylinder cooling affect how much oil is needed. End the guessing game with my free calculator. Read about it and the full scoop on engine oils at www.dragonfly75.com/moto/oil2.html
Carb Sizing Calculator
carb diameter = .8 x square root(cc x RPM/1000) was the formula I'm familiar with but once I thoroughly investigated the subject I found the manufacturers size the carb by the desired flow velocity, not by that formula. So I created my own formula to mimic what they have done and it is free to download from www.dragonfly75.com/moto/carbsizing.html |

I’ve always used 30:1 in my 2T race bike, but have heard from mates still racing, that richening oil increased power output at full revs.
The issue is though, that as it gets oilier, you get mid range bogging problems and shit running at lower revs, so much so that even factory GP teams don’t go much richer. I suppose that in adding more oil, you’re taking away fuel ratio, so leaning the mixture, but with less chance of seizure.
At 30:1 there was always a fine coating of oil on engine parts when you took it apart and it ran well. ____________________ TZR250 2MA road, TZR250 1KT road, TZR250 2MA race, TDR250, YZF-750R Boost colours.
