Can you explain a bit more in detail about these calculators and why they are important. Whats your take on oil/fuel ratios for different size engines and for different types of use?

For example I hear that to a point more oily ratios are better and make more power or certainly don't adversely affect performance for extreme use like short circuit racing etc. I also hear that a 500 or 750 for example needs less oil than a 125 for road use and that lean pre-mix ratios give more snappy low end on/off throttle response?

Regarding carb size, I've always gone by rough estimates of how much bhp a certain size carb can support per cylinder, though this is skewed by different engine and cylinder capacities and the design of the engine, exhaust, and other stuff like fuel grade etc.
