By the way, the worktop in the picture is a likeness of Larvikite, a granite from Norway, possessing large and uniform crystals of feldspar.

I was told, when I went along to choose the worktop, that it was granite, that was all.
It was cut from a huge, irregular, slab of the stuff, it turned up two weeks later to be fitted, all nicely polished!

Apologies, I thought it was ersatz. That will've cost!

From the BBC 'best ever brownie recipe' - I didn't have any normal plain flour so used strong flour (and added chocolate to the top).
Also, tray was in the bottom of a combo microwave/oven and didn't get quite as hot as it could. But that seemed to work okay and left it extra thick in the bottom-center.

F'me - I suffer from lack of self control, but this is dangerous. A couple of colleagues did get a brownie, but no chance they got near the friends I went to a festival with. All finished by the afternoon of the second day - and I only got there in the afternoon of the first. This was with my intentionally pacing myself!

Abusive?

Brownies were a staple for me in my late teens. Asda used to sell one to make at home and you cooked it in a fold out cardboard box that came with it. Even the thought makes me dribble a bit.

One of the advantages of buying a brand new house is, it was all in with the price. The developer took us out one day to choose all the fixtures and fittings. The worktop supplier was obviously a mate of the his but it was all in with the price!
