Bother, I thought you had a bit more. You could be individualistic, andsave up a bit for a real talking point (and a good watch):- a vintage Bulova Accutron. With a bit more money you could probably find a working "Spaceview" one (although a gold one will be out of budget Smile ).

Very fragile though. I've thought about getting one but I'd never risk wearing it out.

I've quite a few G shocks but this is my most recent.

https://www.casio.co.uk/products/timepieces/g-shock/master-of-g/sea/product/?v=GWN-1000B-1BER

For me, water proof is a must and it has to be tough.
This watch sets it's time from the atomic clock, temperature, altimeter and solar powered.

Every time. and i mean EVERY time i am finding that they are just Alibaba £2-5 watches stamped with a different name or altered very slightly for minimal cost and then resold with a name like Lord Timepeices rather then Sangoko or whetever on Alibaba.

What watches do you guys have? I'd love a tourbillon but im not made of money so budget is £50-150

Id like something like this

https://www.chronext.co.uk/rolex/vintage/8952/C58424?gclid=EAIaIQobChMI_4a-w-CA3QIV0g0rCh39zwvmEAQYASABEgIKzPD_BwE

(obviously NOT a rolex but similar looking)

Ash

All the watches advertised on social media are cheap rubbish that are overpriced.

imo one of the very few options in your budget is the orient bambino:

https://i.imgur.com/CsiZBxD.jpg

You can also look at watches like the tissot visodate, but that will likely be a fair chunk more than your budget.

https://i.imgur.com/RxTq928.jpg

The timex marlin may also be an option. just watch the cheap vintage ones. The reissue might be the better option if the vintage one is going to need serviced.

https://www.ablogtowatch.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Timex-Marlin-aBlogtoWatch-02.jpg

Something to bear in mind is a watch that is in your price range likely won't be worth the costs of servicing when it needs it. I have an Orient Ray which when the time comes, I'll probably just drop a replacement movement in it, or just buy another.

If you want something which retains its value, and even goes up in value, then second hand rolex is the way to go. That said, you then have the servicing costs, higher initial cost, risk of buying second hand, possible insurance costs etc to deal with.

I'll bite.
Nothing too fancy, which is good as I'm a tad hard on watches.

Current working collection include, left to right, a 1927 Hamilton pocket watch,
the not so uncommon Seiko 5,
grandad's old Tressa, which is my go-to evening out wear,
and a scabby Accurist purchased by the ex.

Non of which is currently showing the correct time, can't remember the last time I wore the Accurist but as the only battery operated one I really should reset it, the rest are set when I wear them and all keep pretty good time considering the abuse they get.

That's a cheap one. Keep going and you'd get a decent one; but I'd concentrate efforts elsewhere at that price point.

Don't get arrested in Switzerland wearing a fake watch. They fine you the price of an original and crush your fake. Shocked

I seem to remember hearing it's the same in some other fashion capital countries as well.

Casio F-91W
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Casio_F-91W

Just bought 2 of these off Ebay for less than 3 quid. Cheaper than buying a single strap for my current watch.

I like the affordable Casio watches. I still use my childhood w-92H and although that thing is not a G-Shock, it survived a lot of abuse and damage over the (20) years. A friend of mine even had to reconstruct one of the lugs using epoxy for me, as these things do get brittle over time and mine cracked and fell of. This might be the best watch I've ever had, in terms of keeping the time (+2 seconds a month) and functionality (day/date and stopwatch with split time, alarm).

I'm looking for a replacement now.

I paid £90 used for the Seiko and £85 new for the Seagull if I recall.

Really depends what you want!

Ditto, had mine since 1990, awesome watch.

and a few months ago, I got myself one of these for a change now and again.

Casio lcw m100dse

Been my daily driver for 2 years (i work in a prototyping shop)so its faced coolant, carbide tips, swarf, and still looks pity good, the glass has been excellent given the abuse its received, still not a mark,

Its solar, so it never needs a battery, and its radio controlled so its always right,

I also fathom that not having to change a battery protects the seals thus keeping it waterproof for longer,

Its rarely left my wrist

^^^

They are good watches but that LCD panel is god awful ugly. It's like they took a £150 watch and stuck a 50p panel in it.

To me a watch has to have style as well as function and it doesn't in the Casio.
