I'm being badgered for Christmas presents I want from my parents and I honestly can't think of anything. Keep telling her to keep her money, if I need something then i'll buy it myself... but that doesn't work.

So... what is on your (attainable) wishlist... doesn't have to be for Christmas but just shit you want to buy?

I have the same conundrum every birthday/christmas, in that if something is attainable as a gift then I tend to buy it immediately, and if its not attainable to me immediately it's too much to ask for.

I normally give the Mrs a list and she fields her family and mine so dont know who is doing what and I so the same for her.

This year was:
Some t-shirts for youtube car channels I enjoy (Binky, Skidfactory, MCM)
A new pair of shoes
Slaters vouchers towards a new suit
Casual shirts
LED tail lights for my car trailer
Oil and filter x2 for the two bikes (handy to get at Christmas and service in jan)
Chain lube

All stuff I can happily wait for, will enjoy receiving and having and if I dont get, will probably buy for myself afterwards.

Magazine subscriptions are always good as long as you get time to read them. Books are always a good gift, there's a good thread on here.

Otherwise Ill end up with another three bottles of aftershave and some Lynx Laughing

Depends on budget.

I know people whose parents give them £1k for Birthdays and Christmas..

I'd like vouchers for a nice watch / jewelery place. Then it can be x amount so budget is for everyone, and you can add to it if you want an even nicer piece...

Parents don't want to give money... its more the thought that counts, for me Christmas is more for my parents than it is for me getting gifts, so I try to think of stuff they can actually get me or think that I really want rather than just saying "Money", cos lets face it, everyone needs money...

So yeh, nice quality gifts or even experiences (track days, bungee jumping etc.) is what I would ask for.

NEVER clothes or books thanks. Christmas is about toys, even if you are 45 years old. I honestly have no clue what to
ask for this year, I'm pretty spoiled and don't want for much so it's always a tough choice.

I normally direct the Mrs to my 200 item watch list for inspiration.

A subwoofer for the van might be nice. The stereo is rubbish.

K&N for the bike to make it louder still.

Noisy exhaust for the scooter.

Hands free kit for the van.

HID upgrade kit for the bike.

Gotten out of the habit of doing Christmas, really ... due to most people I like doing their own thing or having moved away.

My Amazon wish list includes:
An indefinite list of ridiculously expensive perfumes and scented candles
Assorted slutty clothes including a pink diaphanous negligee with maribou trim
A CD of Peter and the Wolf
Another CD of the complete piano studies (pardon me, "etudes") of Philip Glass
An eclectic assortment of books, wines, plants and ...
A Jaguar XF in ammonite grey Laughing

Now and then I manage to cross one off the list and buy them, but almost nobody else ever does Laughing

I'm having a passion for movie posters lately: Marilyn in Some Like it Hot, and Sophia Loren. I think, my two favourite screen sirens. So I keep thinking about having framed assorted pictures of one or the other of them. If someone bought me a framed poster of Jack Lemmon and Tony Curtis in drag, or La Loren looking properly sultry, I'd be quite pleased.

Oh, and this:
https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/61q9RfBZilL._SX327_BO1,204,203,200_.jpg

But I know one of the authors, and so I'm hoping to wangle an autographed copy out of him at some point in the future Laughing

I quite like mine but if you have the volume up too loud it tickles a lot. The sound is alright though.

As a parent of a son who's a mechanic I always shop for the year leading to Xmas by buying decent various tools for his job. It's amazing how much can be had over the year by doing that. He also gets clothes that I know will fit and he likes too.
Dad always gets something I've hand made. He has things like bunches of copper flowers or small metal sculptures made from recycled bits and pieces.

Me? Honestly I don't want anything. I kinda hate Xmas because people feel they need to get others things and they skint themselves and suffer for it.
But.. I do want a Transit van. Nothing flash just a van - so bloody useful. I also want more hoodies and coats. I'm a big bloke and finding clothes that fit and that look good is difficult. A better laptop would be nice too as I'd like to try something by Apple next - my main interest is low light photography.
(I won't mention the lust I have for a Unimog)

no, I haven't tried them, but a lot of amateur athletic events I enter forbid the wearing of headphones/earphones on pain of disqualification, but allow bone conductor ones. I was hoping they'd be quite good, would also like to wear them when I'm cycling around all day

I like the idea of them. I'm in need of a new set of headphones... Might give them a shot. Any recommended brands to look out for?

Don't you research specific ones before you put on a wishlist?

Some useful inexpensive stuff:
- engine oil / filter (for car or bike)
- brake pads / brake fluid (bike)
- braided brake lines (bike)
- car ramps

I will have to buy those this winter anyway.
