Tbh, the bikes I can afford tend to be crash damaged and pretty much way to expensive to fix up as standard, so I just do what I do to them. Pretty much most of the time they become real tasteful headturners, or so I have been told on many occasions. I would show you a pic of my latest Cx500ec Eurosport incarnation. But I can’t seem to make the file sizes smaller to post pics.

If it won't start in the damp then it might as well be an ornament at which point aesthetics matter.

Ergonomics first, then performance. I am more inclined to like something i can ride and be comfy on that allows me to access its performance than something i merely like the look of.

The looks of my current bike i don't mind either way but i love the way it fits and how it goes.

Shirley he wouldn't go to such extremes if they weren't?

I can't believe I'm debating something so unimportant. Laughing
neither can I...

I've always found satisfaction in buying unloved bikes and adding a bit of personality too them.
I think visual modifications are a good way to express yourself and your passion for bikes and the looks really mean everything to me but more so when I've put the time and effort in myself.

I get that. Modern bikes seem harder to do that to though.

I thought most new bikes were horrifically snatchy fueling nightmares that need half the exhaust system changing and ECU flashing or mapping with the Lambda sensor disabled to make them nice to ride and smooth/usable?

And aesthetically most new bikes have to be easy to improve up to a point? I mean you'd have to really try hard as hell to make them look any worse?

I know most of the above is legislation driven and the manufacturers are in hand cuffs, but they'll always be a market for people wanting to reverse undesirable looks or power delivery as long as it's legal for them to do so.

Not for a long time I don't think?

Though, maybe cheaper ones are less good.

When I was racing the 675 I found it a bit snatchy getting on the power - but not found it an issues at a fast group trackday pace. (This is getting on the power when decently cranked over, so it can feel a bit unsettling.)

Other bikes have been smooth.

My Street Triple was smooth at all revs, no snatchiness, 2010 bike.

But how? Even underneath the bodywork, they're all funny, awkward shapes. That's why they look like they do.
