So just caught on the news that May is going begging for one last chance for a deal. Junker is allowing her 30 minutes to talk in front of all leaders, before they go to a dinner, where she’s not invited.

What a waste of time these childish EU leaders are.

She seems to be behaving like a cuckquean.

I thought that was Barnier's idea? Either way it's a crap one; an admission of failure. The whole point of deadlines is to drive a conclusion. Postponement is just prevarication and hoping.

What happens to the Irish border if we crash out with no deal?

We get a hard border because of customs tariffs and therefore the South are basically hinting (threatening) a return of the troubles as they are back to 2 completely separate countries/economies.

It will never be resolved with us leaving the EU. We can't leave and take Northern Ireland with us in a deal that doesn't include the customs union which is a major reason for us leaving.

Ireland want NI to basically stay in the customs union and eurozone so there is no border. That means breaking up the UK. The loyalists would go mental. The republicans will go mental with a hard border, which will happen with no deal.

Fucking Irish. At least we cound send their tinkers home. Evil or Very Mad

Quite. Enshrined in law, in part 6 (55), Final Provisions (Single United Kingdom customs territory) of the Taxation (Cross-border Trade) Act 2018.

When I voted I hoped that no matter what the outcome was, we would accept it as a whole and then get on with having the best deal for us.
The remoaners and then the infighting have made the whole thing a farce. Europe need us, they need us alot.

That's why they rolled over and surrendered to us with the sweetest of deals in which we get everything and pay nothing. Or else we'd replace their failing multicultural VWs with Greatest British Austins all in white, which would bring about their demise.

That is precisely what is happening in front of our eyes. Pass the popcorn

Yes, good sir, if only the chap had better attitude and an appetite to win, he’d just walk over his opponent.

Look at this fellow, good sir.
https://www.foundshit.com/pictures/funny/mini-bike-jump.jpg

He'd succeed so splendidly if only the sore gravitarians controlled their egos and had more pride instead of moaning that it was always going to end in tears.
After all, he made the final decision to leave the ground and soar in the air; what a bizarre attitude they have not to stand united with him!

Piss poor analogy sorry.

Gravity doesn't give a shit if he succeeds or fails. It doesn't affect gravity in the slightest if he falls flat on his face.

👍

It's not about gravity, it's about those who told him that it's a bad idea, that his bike isn't nearly powerful enough, that he'll be better off continuing to pootle along on the road.

He decided he'll fly nevertheless, and now claims he'd succeed if the others cheered for him rather than doubt his grand design.

Eh? Unsure what that has to do with anything.

No - the point is, he made the decision and is happy to live with the consequences.

Again, him falling flat on his face doesn't affect the "doubters" in any way, shape or form.

Regardless of them being right or wrong.

Bad analogy.

The acceptance of consequences is far, far away yet. Looking at the forum sample, the beautiful minds are still somewhere between "it will be great, it will be so great" and "if it's still anything short of great, it's only because of remoaners' bad attitude".

It's a non-threat.

If the IRA start blowing up innocent civilians because the EU didn't get its own way that's not a good look for the EU. As for the Irish government the last thing they would want is to be seen to be a sponsor of terrorism. Their little tax haven thing would start to look far less attractive for a start.

She wants to remain in office for another year more like. She knows as soon as this is over, she is finished. It's a long hard fight to become PM, all that stabbing people in the back and kicking people off the greasy pole, so she won't want it over too soon.
