Hi Guys, this is my first post. I have just acquired a 1996 CB750, that has a few problems that need sorting. The main problem is the petrol tank breathers. There are two breathers on the bottom of the tank. They both lead up to the petrol cap. One breather is 10 mm diameter, which is fine, but the other one ( around 5mm diameter ) leaks petrol, so I’m assuming that it has a hole inside the tank that is letting petrol out.
Would it be possible to block this breather off, or would that cause other problems. If not, any other recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

I cant remember everything, even less as old age creeps up, its gunna happen to whoever as well so dont be horrible......

post a picture of the top of the tank and cap etc..

Is the petrol cap recessed....if so then one "tube" may well be a water drain going thru the tank and out the bottom....

Not sure either,
https://www.google.com/search?q=exploded+view+of+a++fuel+tank+for+a+1996+CB750&tbm=isch&source=iu&ictx=1&fir=eprtTCXXf5LMkM%253A%252C2a410VjS81lG9M%252C_&usg=AI4_-kSg6S8PpCXytnc1fTAY3RuqQflk1A&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwiA8MPN3ZTeAhWyMewKHeSdDL0Q9QEwAHoECAAQBA#imgrc=fof91EZMeS29MM:

13 says a cap breather,14 looks like a one way valve.
The overflow hole or as said water ingress hole should be easy to see and test.

The top of the tank is recessed. The small breather runs from the bottom of the tank up to the petrol cap recess where it fits into a rubber seal that is blocked when the petrol cap is shut.
I’m having difficulty posting a photo, so trying to explain as best that I can.

This is the fuel overflow or water ingress drain hole your talking.

Thanks for the replies. Would it be possible to blank off this breather to stop the petrol leakage, or would this cause more problems.
