I started buying and selling about 5 years ago and I'm amazed at how prices have changed in that time. I've had 5 c50/70/90's in that time and bought each one for £100 or less - bar one which was 250 try buying one now Laughing

I'd be buying a watch or similiar - No tax, insurance etc and then theres storage and scrotes to worry about with bikes.

I;m just gonna check the garage brb...

Electric is the future - buy a milk float. Retro popularity, room for carrying friends and things and annoying enough to hold back the Teslas and Leafs.
The past will hold back the future. He'll enjoy being a rebel.

It doesn't have to be expensive, that 10g was a figure for a bike, something else might be more or less.

So, widening the remit, is there anything else people could suggest?

Property. Plough it into a deposit, rent it out for the next bunch of years and anything over mortgage/maintenance value from rental income goes into a side account to pay off the loan. By the time he's 18, he'll own a massive percentage of the property.

If it's purely machinery you're thinking of, anything German and air cooled car-wise, and the current Honda MSX125 (Grom) will be a winner. I'm thinking of getting one now to pass on to my lil' brother who's currently 3.

Don't overlook the value of art work either. Doug Hyde has some wicked child-friendly sculptures which are all limited run.
