Hoping that someone can help me with the dimensions of a Suzuki GS550 piston 1977-79 models. Possible that I could use it in a non Suzuki application but need the dimensions.
The standard bore is I think 56mm but if someone can confirm that would be great. Need the following
Pin Diameter
Distance from centre of pin to top edge of piston
Distance from centre of pin to top of piston
Overall height of piston.
Thanks

Obvious Q but if you're replacing can't you measure existing? Honda CB500F from 70s is also 56mm bore and 2 valve. Honda stuff seems to be more generally available too..
OR find a piston within a mm or so and get your barrels bored to suit.

I am trying to find alternative pistons for a Benelli 500 four. Standard bore is 56mm but Honda pistons are only 9.5 to 1 whereas Benelli are 10.25 to 1. Looking at possibility of Suzuki pistons which are 56mm but need to know other dimensions to see if the y fit without hitting valves or head etc. Honda race pistons are very expensive but GS pistons look to have a decent crown on them for good high cr so if dimensions fir could be a viable alternative to Benelli parts which are not available new.
Regards
Ian

Yes, but it would be much "nicer" to do the bodge on the piston!
