Unless he's in Australia, the Learner Approved Motorcycle Scheme (LAMS) has got absolutely nothing to do with it. Wink

Hello guys. Yes I’m currently living in Australia that’s why I had to re-do my licence. The bike is Lams approved meaning limited on power. I have seen few videos on how to de restrict the bike now but would like to get some opinions here first.

One video shows that I should remove the carbs and remove the limit plate on the side of the carbs. The other video shows or talks about removing the secondary butterflies inside the carb.

You have a 2018, it'll be ECU more than likely, they offer different ECUs. There are no carbs on a 2018.

This article Backs that up..

https://motorbikewriter.com/suzuki-adds-full-powered-sv650/

Looks like either a trip to the dealer for a new ECU (if thats even an option from the dealer) or possibly a reflash by a tuner may be possible. Or sell it and buy a full power bike.

As I have had a 2016 sv650 as a training bike, I know it's just an ecu swap in the UK. Not sure how Oz rules differ, but if you buy an sv650 with a2 ecu, once you want to full power it up, Suzuki can sell you unrestricted ecu. (Think you need proof of full A licence). It's simple to swap out, just 2 plugs on ecu mounted in front of battery.

Yeah sorry I meant the throttle body’s. I would rather change the ecu than remove bits from the engin. Thanks for all the replies guys.
