I spent that on my first bike. Got a year old ER6f with 1500 miles on the clock which was as good as new.
Although I got very comfortable with its power quite quickly I still rate it as a starter big bike. Good MPG, grunty
and comfortable. If its for daily use and commuting etc I'm not sure a bobber or bobber style bike is an ideal
conveyance. If (like my bike) it's purely a toy then buy whatever gives you a chubby. Practicality only really
matters if it's a tool, not a toy. ____________________ Currently enjoying products from Ford, Mazda and Yamaha

Thanks for the reply... Yer it would be mainly used as a toy and the odd commute to work now and again as I don't live far away.
I was looking at something like the Yamaha 650 xvs Or Suzuki vl800 but not sure if these are ideal to start out on and maybe a bit to big |

Listen Dickyboy82 , you choose what you want to ride and tell everyone else to “fugg off !”
As for bobber’ish bikes ? The Kawasaki W800 seems to be a good bike.
I’ve not heard anyone say bad things about them.
Personally I’d call it a retro styled road bike ____________________ I am the sum total of my own existence, what went before makes me who I am now!

If I was going to get something underpowered that looked cool, I’d probably consider a moto guzzi v7 which is more cafe racer, they do a v9 I think which is bobber’ish.
Maybe a Vulcan 500? Shadow seems like a popular choice too along with the Rebel... there’s a matte black one that parks near me at work that’s caught my eye a few times, if i was that way inclined

Most of these have older models you can pick up second hand for your budget ____________________ Observation is the greatest source of wisdom. |

Hi bud, congrats on passing your test. I passed my test in April this year, i know how exciting it is to be out their
I bought a second hand MT07 the same day I passed my test, I absolutely love it. It's really light for a 700cc bike, and as i'm a short rider it's absolutely ideal for me. I had to get it lowered to help touching the ground, but for me it's a perfect first bike. It's got power, excellent torque which you do have to be sensible with as a new rider, comfortable riding position, your more or less up right. I would highly recommend one as a first bike. Keep us updated on what you decide |
