TBH I'm so fed up with the whole thing and this 'discussion' is going the same way.

If you are a remainer, you welcome Mays fuck up and think that nothing other than a 'peoples vote' is the right thing.

If you are a brexiteer, you think we have had the leave vote and nothing should change that.

Nothing anyone says here is going to change your view.

All I'm going to say is the ones that come out badly in every sense are the politicians.

They instigated this with the referendum
They had no plan when the vote went leave.
Cameron walked away.
May shot herself in the foot with an election.
Her negotiations Rolling Eyes could have been bettered by a 4 year old.
Labour undermined her where possible when this was one time the politicians should be pulling together.
They have been so incompetent they (probably) have frightened a lot of leave voters into changing their minds.
May's plan gets kicked into touch and they won't allow us to leave with no deal whatever the referendum said but even they are not stupid enough to blatantly disregard the referendum so they are going to go to the electorate to bale them out with a new vote.
They hope.

It's got to the stage we might as well sit back and watch the overpaid ponces try to manipulate us into doing what they want again so stop moaning and do as your told plebs. Gagged

Pass the popcorn

Youíve hit the nail right on the head there.
Best post of the thread.

I canít disagree with a word of that.

I lost faith in the whole thing after Chequers/David Davis resigned. The only way I'll vote again is IF there's another referendum and the options are No deal/May's deal, but we all know any referendum will have a we've changed our mind no brexit option, and they'll do just about anything to get that outcome.

I'm under no illusions that part of the original result was remain running an arrogant campaign thinking they had it in the bag, misjudging how much anti-eu feeling there was, and only realsing late on they were in trouble. All this talk of (potential) May/Corbyn Brexit debates annoys me too, the debate was over more than two years ago...

Remainers are mostly just whiners crying about losing. I've not heard a single one propose a package of measures that address Brexiteer complaints about the EU, just demands about me me me I'm richer and more important than you. Their entire offer is what one Guardian columnist put it as "lets turn back the clock to when things were good for me, personally". Amazingly this went down like a lead balloon. This kind of contempt for working class people has completely poisoned the remain argument to the point that even if they can cancel Brexit they just dump tons of fuel on the fire they are hoping to put out.

As the remainers used to say "now is not the right time for a referendum on the EU". Maybe we should wait until things are more certain, then have a royal commission on a second referendum, and then in 2029 we can consider bringing forward legislation on rejoining in time for the 2032 general election.

In my view, this means that the EU accepts that there is a problem that threatens its unity, but fails to accept any responsibility for such problems. Why are these populist movements growing? Are thousands of people across Europe waking up one day and thinking, "I know, today I'll join a populist movement, haven't done that before" ? Or perhaps - no, surely not?! - there are actually reasons why people feel like this? Thinking

Instead of trying to demonstrate that such movements won't be tolerated, why not address the real reasons they occur in the first place? If you are going to regulate these countries, you must also accept some responsibility. This means that EU leaders must sit at table with the leaders of these movements and listen to them, and must then come up with proposals to alleviate such grievances as they have. When we get to point when a majority of a member state's voting public wants out, isn't it time to listen?

The heads of populist movements? Of course not.

The elected representatives of each individual country? Sure!

So really what we're saying is that in each and every European (probably every) country, the political leaders dont accurately represent the views of the majority?

Anyhow Brexit is literally dead now.

Leave "won" 1 advisory vote with fraud and lies and this will NEVER happen again.

MPs will vote down May's imaginary deal and probably at some point in February will just cancel A50.

You need to accept that and move on people.

Nothing to see here. Go home Laughing

This deal says otherwise.

£38BN up front and we still need their express permission to leave the customs union, negotiate any trade deals, or in fact actually properly leave.

We are still tied to their rules, regulations, fishing quotas, ECJ and they're now threatening to carry on charging us if they refuse, or are unable to agree a deal with us after the transgression period has ended.

What do you think they'll do? Honestly?

It's the biggest stitch up in history, I suspect May is in on it.

Which I then questioned and you did your best to avoid answering.

Something I've noticed is a tendency for Brexiteers to play the inverse race card on BCF...

So racism only works one way does it? Which way is inverse or wrong then?

You've just demonstrated the problem with lefties in one simple quote.

The inverse racism card is played when the called calls out the caller for calling the called racist, to discredit the caller for calling the called in the first place. This works if the caller actually called the called, but doesn't if the caller called the called with justification or if the called claims that the call was made by the caller with no justification whatoever.

Does that further justify the problem with lefties?

Actually remainers have been quite clear about the race which they consider Brexiteers to be. It's the state schooled white chicken factory worker singing "my ol' man's a dustman", and you sir, are a racialist. We Brexiteers, are defined by your side as a different race with vastly inferior intelligence, insight, wealth and life potential.

I thought you'd dodge answering that.
You don't like being caught out do you?

I'll try again, what is inverse racism and why would it be any different to normal racism?
Is it because you assume that white people can't be subject to proper racism in the blinkered view of a true programmed lefty, so you see it as "inverted racism", not you know, just plain simple "racism"?

No need to answer, we all know what you thought.

Let me simplify it. The inverse racism card is played when a group thinks it is accused of being racist (as, according to you is the case here), so throws the accusation back at the alleged accuser in an attempt to make the alleged accuser appear racist instead (as has been done here).

That is what I think.

He is implying certain people are using a rhetorical tactic which he has defined (poorly) as inverse racism.

Ok, so you're accusing me of lumping all leavers into one group and then discriminating against them (which I havent done, and STILL isnt racism in any way) by lumping all remainers in one group, assuming I belong to them and then discriminating against them? I might think you're an idiot, but it's nothing to do with your race or vote, it's becase you cant discuss anything with any thread of logic.

I'm far from leftist, but again with the stereotyping and discrimination from you.

You seem to be projecting your own character traits onto others and then villifying them for it

No, I don't believe it is.

This is a high point in political history. The time the so called mother of parliaments disregard the will of the people and over turn a democratic decision.

If nothing else it shows there are an elite that believe they are better than the people that elected them and, if push comes to shove, will ignore them.

I can understand the remainers being happy with this but remember, if they've done it once and got away with it, they'll do it again and maybe you won't be so happy with the result next time.

Sorry Tony, your democracy has just had a kick in the teeth.

I'm agreeing that government will cancel Brexit because 'it's not good for the country'.

It's interesting looking at Betfair for their odds on Britain leaving the EU by 29.3.18,

Of course it is not good for the country. The question is why the government has triggered Brexit at all?

I mean the Swiss in pretty much the same case have done the opposite:
