How did that person get from not being able to get on the bike to being able to do that?! Surely the learning process must involve a lot of falling off?

Easy, he just wouldn't take nope for an answer.

Hi bud, I felt exactly the same way before I passed my test. I'm 5 foot 3 and always thought a 600+cc bike would be too big for me
I started off on my ybr 125 last January, after getting a little used to it I decided to do my DAS or at least have a go. I was on a lowered Suzuki gladius 650, it was really top heavy so I did struggle with it a bit at first, I dropped it twice, once was at the test centre, just a practice run though, not for my actual test fortunately. After 4-5 times of been on the bike though I started to get used to it, I practiced my mod 1, passed my mod 1 the same day and went home feeling so good knowing I'd been on the bike 7+ hours without dropping it lol. 2 weeks later passed my mod 2 first time with flying colours (April 21st 2018) and picked my MT07 up the same day. I asked the dealer to lower my mt07 which made it the same seat height as my ybr125. I can easily touch the floor and the bike for a 700cc bike is really light. I absolutely love it. Like I say, I'm a 5 foot 3 bloke and weigh about 9 and half stone. If I can do it then so can you.
