My provider has just decided to hike their prices and I'm not using anywhere near what they provide, so it's time to change.

Anybody got any first-hand recommendations? I need a few hundred MB of space and about 25GB traffic/month max. Oh, and a mysql database and email.

I've got my own domain to use with it.

I use EUKHost for my stuff, they're not that expensive in the scheme of things. Might be a bit overkill for your needs though.

BT Residential don't offer static IPs. I'd have to move my home broadband BT Business. Much more expensive than just paying for the hosting.

Nor does Virgin Media, yet my site is still up, the IP rarely changes. If they do change regularly use a Dynamic DNS service to auto update the IP address.

https://lowendbox.com/ is what I use to find a deal when I need a cheap virtual server. Noisy neighbours haven't been a big problem for me; I don't run anything CPU-intensive though.

I'm on BT and I've run a server and remote here all the time... About 3 years now. Dynamic DNS.

I moved all of my stuff to AWS years ago. Current cost for hosting is £0 (as I did a couple of surveys which gave $50 credit) but would otherwise be ~$5 a month. Much more flexible than a small hosting outfit and if you do it properly you'll learn more transferable skills.

S3 for simple web-hosting, Aurora Serverless for the DB and Workmail for email would give a low cost option.

I wouldn't trust Mango Matter for anything at all. It's made from a basic Wordpress template, which means they can't even handle proper web development, let alone how to work with servers or web hosting.
