You’ll need to join the queue, he’s got some pipes to make for me.

Excellent behaviour! Thumbs Up

My head is all hinging on the I.d. of the head gasket I'm going to use, and if anything touches when I torque everything down and do a squish clearance measurement.

If nothing touches which I don't think it will, I'm tempted to throw it all together and see if the bitch will run and stay in one piece without detonating to death. Its the first time I've had an engine with a +2.5mm overbore, so I'm not sure if head modifications are the norm on most engines bored out that far?

Then again if I can get my hands on a lathe with a 4" swing I reckon I can hack out the combustion chamber to match the bore myself. What could possibly go wrong? Laughing

I genuinely do not understand why people cover their motorbikes inside a garage. I've never done this and my bikes have been fine. Can someone explain why a bike needs to be covered when stored in a garage?

Even during the depths of winter in January and February there are at least 3 or 4 days when the temperature is higher than average and one can use the motorbike. In my case I commute on my motorbike on these days and the bikes are kept in use.

To keep off general dust/shite? Particularly if you have a workshop area.

I have covered it this year to protect it from dust and other things potentially being laid on it to prevent any undue scratchings or such like. Besides I also like things neat, and I think it looks quite cool!

You don't really need a lathe, you could use a flexible shaft grinder with a burr. You ought to to do (minor) calculations to check how much metal you should remove (it won't be a lot).

Yes. Note if you're using an angle grinder near any glass or tea mugs, the "sparks" will stick to the surface and you won't be able to get them off without scraping them and leaving a nasty little pit in the surface.

People like you are the reason I see engines that have to run two base gaskets. If you believe you can accurately set squish or chamber volume using a dremel then you shouldn’t be anywhere near an engine.

acf-50 it, ride it, rinse it as and when, re-apply acf-50 as and when..I've got 1 of those Worx Hydroshots, perfect, not as powerful as a 'proper' jet wash, but powerfull enough to rinse off the crud, and, as no wires, and just need a bucket of water on hand, I will occasionally spray it with a bike wash solution, prior to the rinse, if it's really that dirty

This makes sense.

My garage is basically a battle ground between me and my wife. She thinks anything that needs to be stored or thrown away has to occupy the garage first and I insist that anything other than the motorbikes or motor vehicle related gets turfed out Laughing

I was riding at 2am today. it was quite warm. Didn't need heated grips on, regretting the cycling legging i had on underneath my RST paragon advanture-poseur suit.
