I think he's utterly confused about what's happening, to the extent that if someone posts "We're leaving the EU, so bollocks to all you Leavers", he'll actually start arguing to remain. Shrug.

I'm confused?

I suggest you look a bit deeper into this deal, like everyone else has and rejected it, before you make a bigger tit of yourself.

This deal is not leaving the EU in any way shape or form, it still ties us to the EU and they have even more control over us than now.

Are you pretending that as it stands, after March 29th next year, the UK is not still tied to the customs union, ECJ, Single market, EU rules, regulations and the backstop.

No. It will have left the EU though (won't it), and be in a thing called the "transition period".

Poll options are:

1. Remain in the EU (current terms)
2. Remain in the EU under Theresa's deal. This is leave in name only and will lead to us opting back in, just like she did with the European Arrest Warrant.
3. Filing a protest vote by writing "Leave the EU" or similar on the ballot paper with a pen. Half of the second referendum brigade don't want leave to be an option on the referendum because they think it might actually win.

Hey look MPD I was right, you didn't get it...

Looks exactly as I saw it to me. Still, if it makes you feel happy to claim the intellectual high ground as usual, crack on.

Apart from the last option which was in fact to spoil the ballot, not vote leave. Wink

If we look back, before Cameron even suggested Brexit, did people in the UK even care about the ''freedom''? Thinking

Don't go all Val on us. If the Tories weren't haemorrhaging votes to UKIP they would never have called a referendum. Cameron also used the promise of a referendum to get re-elected with a majority that they didn't have before, or after (when May lost it).

I think before the referendum was called, most people probably thought there wasn't a lot they could do about EU membership anyway. Referendum is called, suddenly they see there is really a chance to leave (more fool them, seemingly Rolling Eyes ). Not that polls have been particularly trustworthy over the years.

Wonder if AA voted leave or remain Thinking
Surely remaining in the EU would be better for business.
Or maybe 8 of him voted remain, 2 leave

Apparently the EU is "threatening" that British ex-pats could be deported from Spain etc if there is no deal.
Wonder if that works both ways?

Spain won't do that, they're just trying to find leverage for their Gibraltar arguments.

Stop wondering. It doesn't work both ways.

EU has established working borders tracking system that checks if 3rd party citizens have overstayed more then 90 days. Means all "expats" need to arrange some permits if they want to stay in the EU. UK doesn't have such system at all.

Not to mention EU will return few zillion OAPs back to UK and UK can return EU's well educated and young force back to EU. Boo-hoo Laughing

Quote:
ETIAS will apply to the UK as 3rd country post-Brexit - 7 euros for a 3 year pre-travel authorisation.

The best feature - ETIAS stop anybody with criminal record to travel to the EU at all. So no more UK criminals hiding at Costa Brava then, keep the all for internal consumption, that includes no more trips for Tommy Robinson to EU Laughing
