Premium Bonds instead. Each month you're in with a chance (absolutely miniscule, of course) of winning £1m.

But with the lottery I have 4 chances a week of becoming a millionaire astronaut playboy Folded arms

I'm under no illusions it's a complete waste of money, if I had say a mortgage and a life that didn't completely suck I'd put the money towards paying that off, but right now I'll choose false hope over no hope...

Can you hook me up with your savings options? Smile I know in the bad old days you could stick it all in a ING account and get 6%, every time I look now anything near that is either for a year or on a paltry amount like 2.5k Folded arms

You can get that with large amounts and specialist investors. It's not open to the plebs. We are lucky to get 1.5% and be thankful to our masters for it. <doffs cap> Laughing

Not really a specialist investor. Hargreves Landsdown will let you open a stocks and shares ISA with a grand, then you can pick the funds which you think will get 5% or more growth. Pick those which invest in a large number of companies to spread risk.

If you're investing less than £20k a year, it's all tax free.

If you're investing more than £20k per year, you're probably going to take financial advice from unqualified people on a motorbike forum.

Maybe Coalman Strong was hefting Ste's fat-one into his posterior.

Ste contracting CV19 will NOT jeopardise his eligibility to become Head/Chief Mod.

Nope because for me national lottery was made from the rich bureaucrats that don't want to feel the people like a person (for me it's pretty important to feel this more closer). However, lucky us if we would talk about casinos and gambling, I can say that there are casinos that can offer you good and my example you can find if you would visit site for it. They can offer legal operation which is based on gambling licenses issued by authorized bodies, so it's great that there are such serious casinos in my life...
