Power them through a relay connected to the tail light is most common way/simplest Ignition-live source.

I think you mean brake light live what with not all bikes having permanently on lights.

Nope.

I made a general assumption that the lights were Euro Style.
I just do not know any bikes after 2010 that are built for the European market and not fitted with daytime lighting. No on off switch for lights.

Another perk of using a relay is according to the manual the grips remember their last setting, otherwise you have to set it on every startup.

If you fit a relay they will 'forget' their last setting because all power is lost when the real is off.

My Oxford grips are powered via a relay, and they don't. Relay is triggered by the live feed to the rear brake light switch by the way, as that's a convenient nearby connector.

They have obviously progressed then, mine did forget. But saying that it wasn't exactly a huge effort to press the button to get the setting I wanted. Cool

They have, I asked my mechanic to test the grips on the bike he is selling me in a couple of months.
