Screwfix staff round here not too switched on.

For instance, I went in and ordered, I forget exactly what, 100 assorted nuts and bolts. In case they were out of stock, I wrote down the catalogue numbers for the same buts and bolts in greater quantities.

I placed my order and paid. Loads of people got their stuff. I was left waiting.

Eventually a sales child started mumbling that they couldn't find it. Rolling Eyes

I had to spoon feed them the customer service answer - go and find the same in greater quantity, deduct what I've already paid you, charge me the difference, do it now - before you serve anyone else.

Yet........ I applied maybe a dozen times for entry level sales jobs in Screwfix, never got a response. I can never get past the sodding computer profiling normally, but in Screwfixes case, there wasn't any. Just never replied to me.

I really like Dead Kennedys yet Jello Biafra seems to have been a total dick to the band about everything, and ditto Guns and Roses and ditto probably most of the bands I ever liked.

I now have no TV sets in my house. You have no idea how much I detest TV. Not just that but licence fees.
TV was almost fooked anyway so it went on a journey. Bliss.

He needs some of that new M&S Allah-vera bog roll™. Personally I think in light of this particular gripe from the
religion of permanent offence, we've been gifted as a nation with a poetic opportunity to demonstrate with zero
possibility of cultural misunderstanding, exactly what we think of their religion of peace and all the special treatment
it and its followers seem to get. I sincerely hope sales rocket and don't doubt they will. Who would have thought bog
roll sales would have ended up being an accurate indicator of public opinion. Laughing

It's not them wiping shit all over the imagined word "allah" it's because it's us. That's probably more what they are upset
about, this time, until the next thing.... Rolling Eyes

In the middle of last year, a friends sister had her MSX 125 stolen. luckily the police found it and she managed to get it back. She sent it over to her sisters garage and I was asked if I wanted to give it a once over to see if it was worth saving.

The first thing I did was dump the oil to see what damage had occurred in the engine, luckily I couldn't find any suspicious entities in the oil so that was a good start. I changed the oil and filter and then set about trying to get it to start. As the pond scum had removed the ignition barrel and screwed with the wiring to allow it to be bump started, I got it to start. At least that part worked out well.

It needed a load of parts, namely -

- New chain and sprockets
- New rear end that holds the indicators and brake light
- New clocks, as they were non existent
- New rear indicators
- New rear light
- New number plate
- 2 new tyres
- New rear wheel bearings
- New rear axle
- New ignition barrel
- New petrol cap

Fast forward to December last year and I'd got all of these parts fitted. I then got an MOT sorted and it passed with an advisory for a slightly distorted bead rim on the rear.

The fun part was then hiring a van this week and taking it back over to Ickenham for her. I'd never driven a van before and there I was driving a Peugeot Boxer van down the M4 for 120 miles. The van was overkill for the size of the bike, but it was all they had at the time and I just wanted to get the bike back to it's owner.

To say she was elated was an understatement.

Her mum was very thankful and provided many cups of tea as well as lunch as dinner for me too. I even fixed their garage door for them while I was there.

I got home around 10.30pm that evening and, while tired from all the driving, was happy that someone got their pride and joy back.

While it oiled my gears to help someone, the bike owners gears were well and truly oiled. I received a message yesterday that she rode to work that morning and it felt great to be back on the bike again.

Inb4 pics of sister.

Found out yesterday I don't have to go to Stoke for a tenant changeover because tenants house purchase has gone tits up.
That's at least 6 months more, probably another year until I have to worry about that again. I'm gutted for the tenant on
the one hand, she's a very nice lady and while I was a little upset she was going (because she's a model tenant) I was still
quietly happy for her. None the less it has worked out nicely for me with regard to what I needed to get done before I go to
Thailand and more importantly before my builders start.

Ive joined up a running club and have been doing circuits with them, I normally do Parkrun on Saturday morning but I have pulled some muscles (and possibly got shin splints?) so I gave the run a miss and volunteered instead.

Everyone was really grateful, I even got a pat on the back from one guy. Im going to volunteer again the next time I can’t run, I feel pretty good and I got out of the house instead of vegetating in bed Smile

Getting all four steel doors for my new "motorbike mechanics" & storage shed back home. Now I'm sitting down in the relative warm. Lovely.
