Honda XR 125 Speedo bulb holder

Hi all

My speedo light has gone and it’s not the bulb. I’ve tried numerous bulbs and none work. These bulbs I’ve tried in another XR and they’re fine.

The other bulbs on the mini wiring harness all work fine too.

So I think the bulb holder is knackered so I’m looking to replace it. Problem is it comes as a wiring harness from Honda (number 8 in the picture on the link)

Are these sort of things easy to get hold of say in an electrical shop that would match the fit or am I going to have to buy a harness. Can’t find anything second hand.

Whilst it would probably be simple to resolve, why not take the opportunity to use LED flexible strips. It'll be a fair bit brighter and much quicker?

My way would have been a 10cm flexible strip with 10-15 LEDs that get powered via 12v, so switched live.

Open speedo, place around the edge, super glue, win.
