There's a new Google Transcribe app which would be ideal for Tef.
You just say all the stuff into the mic and it writes it.

I think Teff has gone one stage further than that, and his version works off thought alone

You have to admit, it was one of his more comatose inducing rambles.

I've worked on quite a few chinese scoots and bikes and reckon they're not too bad considering the price as long as you stay on top of servicing and maintenance.

I look after a chinese scoot for a guy.
Its a Lexmoto Urban 125 EFI he bought to use for deliveroo-ing

He bought it from Avon motorcycles who specialise in
Chinese 125/50s as far as I can see.
I did warn him that having me work on it would invalidate his warranty
but he reckoned the 3 week wait for them look at it and their labour costs
quickly matching the purchase price was something he could happily live without.

I wont mention the many self inflicted wounds you'd probably get with any delivery bike
just stuff he might have claimed on warranty.

The speedo cable has snapped twice
The dim beam headlamp stopped working due to the cheap ass distorted bulb contacts
the battery was utter shite so a new good quality one has been fitted
Two of the leds in the rear light array have failed

The worst thing ( so far) was the upper rear shock mount on the frame
got progessively bent up until the bolt head punctured the tank!
the carrier for the delivery box only amounts to around 10KG well below the weight of a small passenger so I reckon it could only be due to poor design or build or he's not dodging the pot holes smartly enough.

I patched the split on the tank with JB weld and re-welded the mount to the frame with some added bracing and told him to monitor it just in case.

Problems aside, it's not a bad wee scoot for the price and easy and cheap to get spares for.
Technical info and wiring diagrams had to be hunted down.
The EFI uses the K2000 protocol, I suggested he buy the patch lead so I can bung a code reader on it to keep an eye on things, but he'll probably wait until it breaks down then panic.

BTW Lexmoto are just another badge company
the Urban aka Trevis is made by Ningbo Longia Motorcyce company
like many many others.

125s are shit. i know because i own them, because i have to (age)

so take a bike thats already shit and slow, make it even more undesirable by having the largest selling point as 'we're cheaper than those other brands', and the only people that will buy them will be a throw away type buyer

when you know you are going to toss it away, theres not a lot of incentive to keep on top of shit

secondly, to all you old fucks getting on your high horses about what kids these days are doing (or more accurately not doing) with their bikes, guarantee you the majority of you made the exact same mistakes they did with your first piece of shite moped

the only difference between my generation and those before, is now everyone has a camera in their pocket and the ability to show the world how much of a prick they are, including me

The only mistake I made with my moped was trying to ride it round the back of the Tropicana on Weston-s-Mare beach while the tide was in. My version of a Top Gear challenge didn't come off too well and it was sunk without trace Laughing . Other than that I was a font of mechanical knowledge at 16 Folded arms

Honest.

Treating my mopeds like shite? NO! Folded arms .
I loved my little Honda mt5 and Suzuki ap50 (older model).
They were my key to the freedom of the highways and my only form of transport other than the bus.
They were the bikes that taught me how to change sprockets, oils, filters, lubing chains, tyre pressures and all the basics.

That said , I don’t know how I would be with a cheap poorly built moped, maybe I wouldn’t care as much?

Chinese bikes are 'cheap' because they are made using cheap labour and parts.

The quality control is not like the quality control the west expects from it's manufacturers. (And they only make things good enough to pass inspection. They do not aim to exceed expectation.)

But if you buy a cheap chinese bike and you do look after it properly then it should pay off in the long run. You may even be able to seel it on later.

But lots of the pieces that break are anoyingly made of shit and replacing with shit only compounds the issue. Rolling Eyes

So basically not fit for purpose or even actually roadworthy.

Time and tide.

I've ended up stripped to the under-crackers trying to bleed fuel through to a dozer engine when the driver let it run out of fuel. The two times I've done it it was enough to save the machine.
Cold bastard the sea at Troon in September. I was almost re-assigned in the trousers dept.

They never come out the sea in a useable condition if the tide washes over them. It means a total strip down to repair water damage.

Chinese bike specialists have been around for almost a decade and getting parts for almost anything is easy - https://www.chinesemotorcyclepartsonline.co.uk/

Fixing stuff is easy - https://youtube.com

They are bought to last 3 yrs - any longer is a bonus!

I know because that is what my boy did. Bought the bike to run to college and then work, ran it into the ground, now its dead, he can afford a Vauxhall Astra as he is old enough to be considered insurable.

Quality is something that you want when you are old enough to value it - until then, cashflow is everything. Its funny how soon we forget what life was like when we were younger!
