Hi

I have had a look but I keep getting the same info

We have a CB125F (not to be mistaken by the CBF125)

I am doing the fork seals as they are leaking but as part of this I am changing the oil. I can not find in any tech spec on the ml of oil needed for each fork. I can find the info on the cbf125 but NOT the CB125F

Can anyone guide me on the correct amount of fork oil needed in each strut to get the correct movement. I have also read that if you increase the oil amount by 10 to 30 ml (if you are a larger person) you get better control and handling.

I also need to know the amount of oil to be used in the Varadero 125 as well (my next job)

Hope someone has the tech spec for these bikes

Cheers

Would have thought the CBF125 (09-17) would cover the CB125F maintenance and servicing for the two bikes

Hi

Thanks for your reply; however the cb125f and the cbf125 have differant forks, so that is why I asked the question

The other 125 is a bigger bike and they must have more oil in them than the cbf versions

Thanks

To all those who had a look and did not know Thanks for looking

I have found the answer

The Honda CB125F (known as the GLR in the trade) needs a 10w synthetic fork oil and each fork needs 145ml of oil with a compression gap (for those who understand what I mean by that) of 187mm

The Honda Varadero needs considerably more oil and again it is best to use a fully synthetic 10w fork oil and it needs 346ml of oil with a compression gap of 117mm

I have read other posts that have discussed that if the rider is a bit bigger and the bike is a bit twitchy or not stable then either use more fork oil or a bigger spring

I now know that putting more oil in will just blow the seals, the other option of a heaver spring is an option that will work however using a thicker fork oil (15w or even a 20w) will do the job (same quantities) but as it is a thicker oil it will make the front end less twitchy. Before doing anything check that your tyre pressures are right

I am only adding this as a guide for others who are needing to know the info above and can't find the correct anything (even the tech team I spoke to had to check the computer), but this is guidance on how to manage the front end (if you touch your breaks and the front end drops, use a thicker fork oil 15w or 20w at the outside. If this helps, then I am more than happy to help.

Thanks
Dave
