*edit - just seen above - bargain Laughing

Yeah mine were knock-offs to be honest. When I done a search for the genuine Paqui ones they were coming up around $150 each imported from America as no stock in the UK. I can assure you though even these knock-offs aren't for the faint hearted, I've no doubt they used the genuine Carolina Reaper powder on them. I like really hot and spicy food but these were fucking insane painful fire and brimstone. Both times I ate one; within a couple of seconds my reaction was to sneeze, but because the chip was still in my mouth smothered in the chilli powder when I inhaled to sneeze it sucked some of the powder off the chip and into my lungs. I couldn't speak for about five minutes. As if the pain in my mouth wasn't enough punishment I had it inside my fucking lungs too! I'm told I went bright red and my head looked like it was going to explode.

Marketing may be playing a part but from what I understand the chilli powder isn't cheap in the first place anyway because the chilli peppers have been bred by one bloke in one location so supply is limited. It may be that these peanuts only have a small amount of seasoning per weight in order to make them actually edible and saleable as a long term thing, whereas the whole point of the one chip challenge is for the chip to be completely smothered in the chilli powder to make them as painful and inedible as possible and people are generally only ever going to try it once as a gimmick.

And also because I doubt very much that the name 'Caroline Reaper' has any legal standing, so manufacturers will use it on any vaguely hot-tasting tortilla chip etc

I don't think that's actually true. From what I read the Carolina Reaper is a particular species of chilli pepper that has been bred by one bloke in South Carolina to be the hottest chilli in the world. It's 'hotness' is measured on something called the 'scoville scale' and it's actually officially the worlds hottest chilli pepper according to the Guiness World Records as it's been rated on that scale. The part of the chilli pepper that gives it its 'hotness' is called capsaicin so the scale is measured on the concentration of capsaicinoids. If it's only bred by one bloke in one part of the world there's a good chance it's patented / in limited supply.

Just as an example, the Carolina Reaper is rated at 1,569,300 on the scoville scale. Your average Jalapeno is rated at 3,500 to 8,000 so it's between 200 and 450 times hotter than a Jalapeno!

Is everyone asleep yet? I'm sure I've just bored everyone to death or they've x'd the page off as their eyes started to glaze over...

I have a lovely little video of the result of my two little angels after they were playing with a big bowl of chilli peppers. My daughter rubber her face and body and my little boy must have stratched his butt because he couldnt sit down. They were both crying and even though i am sure it hurt... I was laughing inside hahaha...

But it's not an unexpected outcome is it? That's what I fail to see with these supposedly hilarious internet japes.
No doubt dreamt up by the same morons that were eating dishwasher pods to get YT likes, when they aren't being
run over dancing next to their own cars. Evolution is a funny old thing.

Was the hot chilli hot in your mouth, where you just put it?
Was the tide pod soapy in your mouth, where you just put it?

Not sure what these people expect might happen.

Where's the line? Dogshit sandwich challenge? De-eye yourself with a broken pint glass challenge? Jump out in front of a
HGV on the motorway challenge? Wet fingers/plug socket challenge?

It's just all a bit Jackass isn't it? Except their stunts were funny. And first.

How many clips with "dogshit sandwich" Ste?

"Toilet boy gets the shock of his life. This pig begins with some deep humiliation of being made to crawl around the Goddesses back yard picking up dogshit with his bare hands, forced to sniff it and rub his nose in it. What a fucking pig. I drool into this slaves awaiting mouth later to show him my sexy softer side. I end up with evil thoughts and my sadistic side comes out to play. I use the electric swatter on him but he doesn't jump as much as I'd like so I change to the cattle prod and shock his balls full blast. This causes one hell of a jump from this old boy. Not good enough for me however, I take it to another painful level."

WTF is wrong with people? Laughing

Pink Flamingos: 197172
The scene became one of the most notable moments of Divine's acting career, and he later complained of people thinking that "I run around doing it all the time. I've received boxes of dog shit plastic dog shit. I have gone to parties where people just sit around and talk about dog shit because they think it's what I want to talk about." In reality, he remarked, he was not a coprophile but only ate excrement that one time because it was in the script.
