The results are in - actually got the rear sprocket done weeks ago but only just got round to GPS testing it yesterday.
After dropping a tooth on the front and going up 4 on the rear, the new top speed is...

56-57mph on the same fairly straight and flat dual carriageway I had been using before.
Which is still the same as it was before any changes were made and also the same as when just the front sprocket was changed. Top speed has never changed despite all changes. However the bike now wheelies from a standstill with ease which wasn't possible before and acceleration is noticeably quicker. Going downhill it will hit 62mph in top gear on the rev limiter @ 10,500rpm but even with these changes in gearing it still won't red-line on a flat in top gear. Well, not with me riding it anyway.
So yeah, just goes to show how under-powered the YBR was in the first place that with the standard sprocket setup it couldn't get anywhere near it's theoretical top speed of 70mph with my lumpy arse on it. Another user (possibly someone lighter and more aerodynamic than me) may find it getting to the red-line in top gear too quickly and could do with some more top speed, but for me, for now, it's the best setup available and it turns out no compromises have been made whatsoever, just got more acceleration and more torque at the back wheel without any reduction in top speed ____________________ Must Go Faster
