Maybe Bikesure have someone trawling forums to look for mentions, I don't know. We haven't got time to be doing that and I only heard about this because 'woo' was kind enough to tell me he had put in his review. I thought I'd try to clarify things.

Oh, and we've got the 13mm noose chain back in stock again as another batch came back from plating yesterday.

...But I'm _not_ a salesman!!! I'm an engineer and proud of it.

Cheers Smile

Steve.

If you think this is SPAM then can you tell me how to rewrite my review without it sounding like or appearing like SPAM?

Well the inclusion of the bits I mentioned just reminded me of the bit in Wayne's World when they start advertising coke. Also involving the bloke who owns the company in the thread. It was just a bit too glowing that's all, but don't worry, I didn't even rate it as spam.

big bump @woo

I am looking at exactly the same chain for out and about but deciding between the 13mm or 16mm 1.5M noose with squire lock, are you still using the 13mm one? how you getting on with it? at home I have 19mm and 22mm

I plan to carry it in my US10 or US20 tail bag on the CBR6 until I change my bike and it will go in the topbox.

Did you need to cut the bit of material at the end so you can loop the chain back on itself to lock?

The noose idea is so good I'm suprised not many are doing it.

I'm not sure whether go for the 16mm 2m one (as that is minimum for the noose) or a 13mm 1.5m one as my out and about chain hmmm, I'm assuming when you had the sleeve you needed to cut it so you could lock? what lock are you using the SS65CS?

I wonder if I could fit the 1.2m 13mm under the seat of my CBR6 like you have

my chain i think is either 1.5 or 1.8 cant remember off hand

when using the loop through the chain the sleeve just caused more issues so got rid.

i am using an Abloy PL362 padlock i wasn't keen on the squires padlock

It takes a level of skill far above that which your average, or above average, bike thief is going to posess. The angle grinder is far simpler, easier, readily accessable, and doubles as a weapon should anyone stick their nose in and try to stop them.

I can pick most locks - in a controlled environment, with time, and no distractions. On a pavement with people passing by? Not likely, and I have thousands of hours into the hobby.

Hmmmmm.

Decisions, decisions.

Do I pick the lock or shall I cut the chain with an angle grinder or should I smack the owner over the head then steal the keys for the lock and the bike so I can ride away?

Thinking

I'll go for picking the lock and then I'll lock the chain back up afterwards to make the situation confusing for everyone. Mr. Green
