I was riding the bike home and I heard a rattle and saw the sidestand dragging slightly and so I had to pull over.
Thought of using a cable tie to put up the stand and remove to put down
but this is so much effort to do every single time. I need a proper fix.
I had to ride home with my foot under the stand while staying in third gear throughout the journey.
Will an extra couple of washers for the bolt to thread through do the job do you think?
Here's a picture of my problem:
In the picture there is side play- it's been like that for a long time and it's led to this much more worrying problem where the stand won't stay up when I'm riding

Is it not just the spring you are missing?

where would the spring go?

Edit: No there are two springs. One for the sidestand switch and one to actually keep the sidestand back. It's still not staying up.

I think photos are needed them, as a quick Google search shows up CBR 125 Side Stand springs, so it must be held up by the spring (never seen a side stand that isn't held up by a spring)

So might be worth comparing what your spring looks like against a Google image search, maybe yours has stretched to the point where it isn't holding, or the clip/mounting point at either end of the spring may have broken

Does the pivot needs lubricating so the stand flips up again as it's supposed to?

shit. you're right. no springs at all. not sure where the two springs have gone.
I have no idea how the springs would go on even if I had them. Looking for pictures online can't see anything. How on earth they would disappear I have no idea.

Oh yes- I realise that's the actual stand I want- I'm on Fowler's now. I just posted the pic of the stand above in my OP to demonstrate the side to side play.

TEMPORARY SOLUTION FOLKS PLEASE!

Temporary solution while you wait for the spring to turn up? Rubber bands.

So, how in the world did you manage to see two non-existent springs? Just curious...

I worked on the bike before. And remembered seeing them. I didn't bother to look properly.

Anyway I went to the motorcycle shop a mile away and he put a new spring in there- it's fine now.

Where was it parked up?
Someone might have stolen them because they lost theirs. They just hook over lugs or through holes - pliers will remove them/put new ones on.
