hi guys,

newbie looking for some help here.
so i've recently bought a 125cc Apralia Habana custom(2001) that is a non-starter, after playing around trying to start her up im having no luck. checked over the battery, spark plug, carb ect to see if there was any issues but all seems fine the only thing I can think of its the cdi unit, but before I go away replacing things will-nilly, I was wondering if any of you guys have any insight or a way to confirm my theory. being a newbie any help/information is much appreciated.

TIA,
Ajax Very Happy

Hi,
Imho unlikely to be cdi.
Go through the basics..fresh fuel.
Is it getting to carb?
Tested for spark? New spark plug?
Put a multimeter on the battery? Result?
Fuse(s)?
It's usually the basics, start there.

cheers,
GAZ

perfect thank!
have got a carton of fresh fuel,
ill need to double check if its getting to the carb,
battery and spark are definitely sound as I tested them on my running 125cc Smile
might just replace the fuses too, just to be on the safe side!!

thank you Very Happy

If you're getting a spark it's not CDI and it's not fuses. Remove the plug and squirt a little fuel in the hole, see if that makes it fire. If it so much as pops then it's fuelling.

^^^^^ this ^^^^^
I'd be doing same thing.
I'd have done it at same time as testing for spark on ACTUAL bike.
I have a syringe (a few actually, of different sizes) that's ideal for this.
So if your getting a nice blue spark & have a fully charged battery (takes 2mins to test & to find out if its holding a a charge),
just squirt a few drops of neat, fresh fuel down spark plug hole from syringe & refit clean spark plug & cap.
Hit starter & you'll usually get signs of life after a a couple of attempts.
This is often enough to get a simple carb'd bike running if its been sitting for a while, worked for me many a time.

cheers,
GAZ
