Zooplus again. I buy Royal Canin feed for my strapping mutt. It is a good feed with moderate energy production. My dog gets compliments on how well she looks almost every single day. I use the Maxi senior kibble but she has been on their puppy, then junior foods first. ____________________ Currently enjoying products from Ford, Mazda and Yamaha

A friend was giving his GSD working dog food thinking it was better for her. It made her hyper, she had so much energy. He did nothing but change it to a standard good quality food and she calmed right down.
As with kids, find one that has minimum additives/preservatives.
I used 'Symply old dog' food for my old chap, he thrived on it.
They do one specifically for small breeds.....

we have a black lab
Now labs are known for being food orientated and eating everything and anything they can get in their mouths (it doesn't necessarily need to be edible with some)
Ours on the other hand is raw fed and is still interested in our food but never steals never bin dives and doesn't pick up food outside
Raw feeding is good, little waste most of which is hard and easy to pick up but you do need to do your research and make sure you provide the right mix for your dog ____________________ DILLIGAF |

I'd second that as a Lab cross owner ____________________ Always learning, everyday is a school day |

It's never occurred to me before but I suppose there might be something in it.
I've never really been on the receiving end of dog naughtiness - apart from Max - who was a complete w@nker when I first met him.
But then he's a terrier (Irish), and I'd never had experience with terriers much before - so I thought it was just juvenile terrier naughtiness. His dad was quite frustrated with him but as I only see him two or three times a year, it seems to me that he's become better over time, so whether its progress with training, castration ( ) or just that he has my undivided attention and smooching the whole time I am there.
The whole time I have been minding him, he's always had the same food. I can't remember what, maybe James Wellbeloved... ____________________ Not nearly as interesting in real life. |

Didn't know you had Weims Hawkeye. Mines half weim so I totally get what you mean about their capacity for mischief when unattended. Not gonna see mine for a while week while I'm away. Already miss her and I'm not even at my destination yet.
And yeah, Bakers isn't great. My mum feeds it to her dogs and won't be told there's far better food available. ____________________ Currently enjoying products from Ford, Mazda and Yamaha

We started raw feeding with a rescue staffy bitch we had
She was a lovely little barrel who had been breed till she couldn't any more then chucked away
When we got her she had several health issues which cost a couple of grand to get right
the one thing was her coat was very thin and her skin was rough and flaky
A Dog groomer we know who also shows GSD suggested raw food and she was like a young dog, coat cleared up and she had energy to enjoy walks and life in general so when we got the Lab after Misty passed we went straight to raw food ____________________ DILLIGAF |

Gracies about 38kg at the moment. Shes been slimmed down in advance of our holiday so my dogsitter can spoil her with treats without her getting too fat. Shes half doberman too so very smart to go with her mischief. Dogsitters been in touch and she looks pretty chilled so thats a weight off my mind. First time abroad since we got her. ____________________ Currently enjoying products from Ford, Mazda and Yamaha
