Hey all im new here,

firstly Hi all,

now down to business, i have a 2002 Honda Nes 125cc which is a nonrunner, bought it as a nonrunner, been stood for a few months apparently,

Drained the 1mm of oil that it actually had in it and topped up fully, gave it coolant which also was none existant, took the spark plug out an binned it, gave it a new lease of life, charged the battery fully but still getting no spark?

what else can i do?

TIA

Neil

Where did all the oil / coolant go?
What safety cut out switches does this scooter have to kill the spark?
Why did you bin the spark plug?

Welcome.
Ignition switch faulty maybe. Have you checked the battery voltage even after it’s been charged as it still maybe knackered.
Is there an on off switch on the cluster. If so clean the contacts.
Is the coil accessible, have a look at the wires too and from the terminals.
In view it had virtually no oil or coolant in the bike it would ring alarm bells as to what lies beneath the plastics and tank.

if it had hardly any oil then the engine is scrap. I hope you paid peanuts for the bike .

It's a good sign it tuns over, perhaps it was laid on its side while unused. If the oil blew out while running something bad has probably happened,

Do you have a manual and know of cmsnl for the exploded views, they will show stuff like ign system parts and cut out switches etc., very useful info. and free.

The oil that came out of the engine, did it contain "bits" and/or metal flakes etc.. Inspect the old engine oil. Did the coolant cap have any oil there?? and does the engine have compression??

Any mayo seen in the engine??

Get a wiring diagram and use your multi meter.

There may be a manual and wiring diagram on here but also look on cmsnl for clues.

So if its rarely the Cdi does that mean the Coil could be faulty??

Coils and cdis rarely go down, many bikes made in the 80s/90s still operate on their originals.
Get back to basics with observation on wiring loom, earthlings, connector blocks.
As to my question earlier: is there an on off switch on the handle bars, as some bikes have been known to spin over but won’t fire with the switch in the off position.
Side stand also. Perhaps by pass these items.
What’s the plug cap like? The HT lead(s).

I wouldn't spend on anything other than a meter at this stage
as the 1mm of oil and zero coolant could mean the engine has been run dry with no coolant and FUBAR.
A few tests with a meter will help you find out why its not sparking

It could also be empty because someone else drained it getting ready for a rebuild, then decided to not bother.
Quite possible that someone else has also tried to fix it, and decided the problem was not worth fixing.

Still, nothing wrong with having a go. Multimeter and wiring diagram, chase through the ignition system until you find a problem.

So no bits in the oil and you are getting a multi meter, even a cheapo one will help.

Without a wiring diagram you are like trying to find your way to Talybont, unless you make your own that is, diagram not Talybont.

Which Talybont by the way??
