It's normal. The clamps are mounted with flexible, rubbery washers, I think. You get used to it after a while and, if you still don't like it, I've heard of people just replacing the rubber washers with rigid ones to stop the flex.

You don't notice it when riding, it's very firm rubber which damps any vibration through bars.

Must be a MT07 thing. Havent noticed the same on mine and I'm pretty sure the MT series all use the same handlebar. My MT09 had a recall on the handlebar mountings though. Couldn't tell you if it applied to the 07 as well.

Didn't they crack or something? Might be why some are rubber mounted.

I don't think they do but, in any case, only the 07 is fitted with flexible mountings. 09 and 10 bars are solid.

As said, you really don't notice the flex much unless you deliberately make it flex. I would notice it occasionally mid-corner on a bumpy surface, which sounds more disconcerting that it really is.

I certainly wouldn't class it as a deal breaker in terms of buying the bike, as it's pretty insignificant in the scheme of things. If one doesn't like it, spend a couple of quid and replace the washers.

I like my bars to be solid. My Triple had rubber mounts and never moved...

Rubber mounts are on quite a few yamaha twins. They were only noticeable on my 535 when pushing it by the bars. Something I did a LOT of.
