You make it sound like being alone is a bad thing. quite the opposite in my experience, but then I just hate people.

Would much rather be left to my own thoughts and devices than having to conform to xyz generations bullshit.

But that's pretty much how you come across to everyone else.
The only difference is you virtue signal to the right

Which pron sites are you browsing?
Expect a knock at the door.

?

The original post said "teenagers between 16 and 24"

I'm just confused as to when 24 year old's started being seen as "teenagers" instead of full grown adults.

You stop being a teenager when you hit 20, so the article should have read "teenagers between 16 and 19"

I'm just pissed with 20 somethings still expecting to be treated like Adolescent kids, grow the fuck up already.

The articles, none of which the OP linked to, talk about young people aged 16 to 24.

Sauce.

But their data is quite flawed as the bottom of the page, they explain where they got their stats from:

"The public were invited to take part in an online survey, which took around 40 minutes to complete. The survey asked respondents to give their opinions and record their experiences of loneliness and related topics, including friendship, relationships, and the use of technology - as well as recording lifestyle and background information.

This was a self-selecting sample, so people experiencing loneliness might have been more attracted to take part, inflating reported levels of loneliness. The proportions in each age group are similar to other surveys."

What they fail to mention is that those people are paid for completing the survey. There is a knack to answering online surveys and it's all about not giving boring answers because the people running the survey need to get data which articles can be written about. You have to give interesting answers otherwise you're less likely to get paid.

The adult equivalent would be me, sitting in my room all day, cyber-stalking David Beckham and feeling "lonely" because I can't do all the things he can. Young people have not been taught to be grateful for and enjoy what they've got. They have no self-worth (mind you nor did I at that age). Add to that, lots of parents will leave their kids to play Fortnite all day because they think they are "content". But once these kids are forced outside on a family day trip (like ours are) they really enjoy it.

The schools don't help either. They are shit scared of discipline because they might get knifed or the kid's parents will cause batshit. My parter's son sometimes has trouble at school, he reacts to people annoying or teasing him by going mental and wrecking the place. But rather than doing anyhting to prevent his outbursts (like simply sitting them at opposite ends of the class) they do nothing for fear of being branded racist, sexist or whatever to the offending kid. And that all goes back to the victim culture...and the parents.

Alright, any work experience in this field? - I shoveled shit the past 3 years. - Well, not really the field I was looking for but good enough for me, when can you start? Laughing

Hiring people is always a lottery. You can never tell what the applicants will turn into in a few days, months, years. Don't you have trials period in the UK? In CZE, the labour law allows for 3 months (6 months in some areas) trials period in which the employer, or the employee, may terminate the contract without any given reason and with no penalty for doing so.

UK law allows that to happen for two whole years.

I work in IT and it's not often perhaps every few years I need to recruit at graduate level for the position.

That's where my comments came from, I myself worked at Morrisons and a local hotel and even for the job centre whilst a student. This is from my 16th birthday up until leaving university.

I've found people who went to school, who didn't get a weekend or evening job, then no jobs at all through university have a massive sense of entitlement. They don't seem to understand the working thing.

Now I understand. You had to go through this, so others should too. Smile

But still, if they've got the qualifications and fulfill other requirements, I'd hire them and terminate the contract if they didn't perform well. You've got 2 years for that in the UK.
