Will the 650 unit motor fit into a 500 Triumph Daytona type frame, they look very similar. Thinking of building a Trackmaster replica , thanks.

I think you will struggle, the 650 engine is much larger than the very compact 500. Longer and taller, the 650 crankcase also has a large cast nose section sticking out at the front, which the 500 does not.

The popular conversions were a Triumph engine into a Norton frame or a Beezer frame. Tape measure time really , but I have never seen a 650> 500 conversion, the 500 is a physically much smaller and lighter bike. You would think that as so many Triumph engines were fitted in other frames (and there is a reason for this) that there would be loads of Triumph frames without engines lying around.

Thanks Steve, will stick with the 500, they are a good motor in any case.
