Found the culprit, The sprocket bearing was totally wasted! Floating around the race like a plastic bottle in the sea! I will change all three tomorrow!

Problem with the Kawa GPZ 600 r 1987. I have a clicking/clacking coming from somewhere near, either the front chain sprocket or rear wheel!
But definitely chain related, as the noise is there when free wheeling with engine off!
At first I thought the chain was to tight, so I released the chain a little but its still noisy and clacking away, not a constant clack/ click almost as some bearing when reaching a revolution has a problem with a roller, if that makes sense?
The chain and both sprockets are new as the noise was the reason I changed them!!
Ive checked the front sprocket for tightness and the rear sprocket bolts all is ok with both!
Any thoughts out there? I hope its a simple fix as performance dosen't seem to be affected. Idea

Don't think of me as a know-all motorcycle guru, and I don't have experience of your particular bike, but I have enough experience to say I've had that sound a few times on bikes before, and it was always either the chain or the front sprocket retaining nut.

Symptoms of a chain having reached the end (really terminal case needing urgent replacement): with the rear wheel off the ground and bike in neutral, turning the rear wheel incrementally a few degrees at a time, check for free play along its length, and there will be a very tight spot.

Symptom of a sprocket retaining nut having come loose: it will be loose and you'll be able to move it with just your fingers - it will be held on by just the locking washer.

If it's not those things, I know it's possible for the rear sprocket carrier bearing to collapse without disastrous results and still keep working - might be worth popping it off and taking a look.
