Ahhhhhhhh, American Vandal, I'm hooked.

Season 1 is pretty good.

If you guys can get into it, your wives will probably mostly just go *tut tut* all the way through. It has some incredibly juvenile moments.

I never usually enjoy American high school things any more, because the age gap is just TOO big these days, but I do try and watch the odd Youngperson thing now and then just so I can keep up with whatever modern trends/tech I might be missing out on.

Stupid but necessarily hilarious teenage hi-jinks - and the main character is sooooo fucking goofy, it really seems as if he stepped out of Beavis and Butthead, but I loved Beavis and Butthead as well, back in the day. But he's also slightly hot in the way that big goofy American "high school senior" boys can be.

It seems like it jumps from one production style to another and can be slightly distracting in that respect, but its worth it, because you get to see the different aspects of the "crime" from lots of different viewpoints. And there are a couple of decent soap-opera style OMG moments, once you get into the story.

I'm slightly more intrepid about watching Season 2 than I was, despite being hooked into the whole idea of the series by that first episode. Not sure I can cope. But I'll see how I get on. You'll just have to forgive me any Bodyguard-style enthusiasm until I've finished this season Laughing (or at the very least, attempt to view the whole season, I'm not entirely sure I will manage it ...)

Happily, it looks like Season 2 has different characters from S1.
I think the production company have have said there won't be season 3 at the moment.

Edit: Finished Season 2 now as well. Strangely, I preferred Season 1, although both had their entertaining moments Laughing

The general feeling I got was akin to that of opening a post by Ste ... will I cope or am I going to be grossed out?

I do hope they make another season or three. I did quite enjoy them, even if they were a bit ... high school prankish.

Finished Russian Doll last night.
Started on the Passage
Thanks BCF for the recommendations Thumbs Up

Russian Doll Spoiler alert - Interesting use of many worlds theory of quantum mechanics in last episode, but they wouldn't have merged back to the one reality at the end

I read The Passage years ago, vaguely remembered it was going to be made into a series, then have watched it since it's aired.

Watching the series has prompted me to do a re-read of the book.

Just started watching that Curfew series.
Not sure after two episodes if it's worth it as it seems a very weak story and so far I'm not enjoying it as much as the film (Death Race) that it seems like it's based on.

I just can't get into box set series stuff these days, and if it's not a documentary or reality TV series then I tend to avoid or switch off and put the 24hr news on or go off and listen to my music instead.

Not sure how abnormal that is, as more and more people at work are getting into tv series and talking about them, apart from the drinkers and the die hard sports fans.

Im more of a film buff than anything else these days, though I've just started re-watching Ashes to Ashes for the laughs, though it's not as funny second time around.

Never get boredBMW though of seeing the UR Quattro being skidded around by a bunch of dinosaur cops from the good old days. Laughing

I started THE ORDER but I fell asleep quite a lot, but it's kept me interested despite that. Might be the werewolf thing ... Thinking

But today I also started Brick Wall and quite like Brick Wall Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. Not sure which is more annoying: the lead character, or her flatmate or her landlady. I'd quite like to bang all their heads together. But it does have enough moments of genuine comedy to keep me entertained.

After Life with Ricky Gervais. NETFLIX

This is simply awesome viewing, the man can do no wrong. A 6 part series, I binge watched the lot. I sincerely hope they do a series 2.

Had quite a bingey few days, and am now halfway through Season 2 of Mad Men, which kept annoying me with all the smoking last time I tried to watch it, but maybe I'm over that now, have got the bit between the teeth and am enjoying it.

There's a bit too much singing in Irrepressible Annoying Bint for my liking, but I've also watched enough of that to become engaged with it, but only to the point where I'd maybe catch one or two just for interest if I was bored, have done the initial binge, but it doesn't grab me enough to stay up til 3am.

Yeah, I watched that to fill some time between episodes of The Good Place, and although it isn't my usual cup of tea, and I am probably not the target audience, I found it endearing. If you want to just skip to the best musical bit, search youtube for Titus Lemonade. Worth watching, it has finished for good now. Also, for some weird reason, Carol Kane ( Wub Wub makes me wanna watch The Jerk again" )

Fringe is worth a watch if you're into Sci-fi and haven't seen it before.

The Umbrella Academy - 7/10

Not bad, however nothing I would watch twice. An old wealthy man adopts children, who have super powers, to train them to help the world. And something goes wrong, ...

I don't really have an opinion about Ricky Gervais, cos I haven't bothered to watch anything he's ever done.

So I quite enjoyed After Life.
Enough to watch 1-5 back to back.
It had some genuinely funny moments, and some pathos as well.
Crikey though, doesn't that blonde have HUGE tits Shocked

I quite like that it has Paul Kaye in it, he seems to specialise in really odious characters.

I still don't really have an opinion about Gervais. I suppose he just seems like another of those generic comic types, is there anything he has done that is genuinely funny?

Now I'm bloody hooked on Secret City, an Aussie series about, I dunno, spies and Chinese dodgy police, or something.

Interesting!

Currently watching Strike Back season 7 with Jamie Bamber (Battlestar Galactica) and a fit blonde bird who might be a Russian in real life but is playing one in the show (if she is a Russian, they sure know how to build them over there).

They had Rhona Mitra in previous seasons. It's been good man tv, guns, tits and explosions, this is the last season though I think.

This is season 7, season 8 has been green lit and they say that is the last. Expect some major players to die. I hope that stumpy looking Aussie chick catches a 50cal in her mush, I can't abide her.

American Gods series 2 just started on Amazon Prime.

Super-weird and referencing real american places, like The House on the Rock, poor old Shadow Moon formerly of Hollyoaks is still going through some weird stuff.

His dead fly-blown, super-strong, dead, wife is still trying to reunite with him with the help of a giant leprechaun, while Lovejoy is driving round in a Cadillac with a jive-talking tailor, being all malevolent.

And we still dont know why Bilquis shoved all those men up her fanny and they still up there? Will they emerge in a later episode, wearing sunglasses like those Chilean miners?

Well I for one, am watching to find out Very Happy

I've just caved in and started watching American Gods (the first season) yesterday actually ... its alright, innit.

I'm struggling to connect that horny black chick whose minge eats everybody, but no doubt it will all fit together, erm, nicely at some point.

American Gods is not too far off of the book, which is an excellent and highly recommended read. Thumbs Up

I've not started watching series 2 yet but I thought series 1 was really good.
