https://supersoco.co.uk/

Found these and thinking of swapping my 700 Yam for one, the new one does 60mph and 100 miles to a charge with two batteries.

My usage is a 3 mile commute and sunday scratches, mainly to the local race tracks so i think this may be perfect for me.

What does every one else think? Any experience of them?

You know it counts as a moped right? It's restricted to 30mph.

Interesting...

All three models state 28 mph and 40 mile range. That's a bit pointless, it's only just over my round trip to/from work.

Also the 1p/mile lark, not sure if you actually own or lease the bike etc.

Would rather stump up for the Zero DSR.

a) the TCMAX is not restricted

b) they are hilariously easy to de-restrict

I think that I wouldn't have one of those as an only bike.

How many miles would you need to do for the lower running costs to outweigh the depreciation?

The Super Soco TC Max will set you back £4k so I think it's a false economy.

TC Max - 60mph and 60 mile range, firmly in 125 territory.

£4000 to hug a tree.

Not even fully hugging a tree, because you generally have to burn and release shit into the atmosphere to generate the electricity.

They were doing a deal whereby you can get 5 year 0% after an initial 12? month period on whatever you havent paid. You buy it through work And money is deducted from your pay, sounds interesting if your employer goes for it.

How exactly can it be de-restricted to do 60mph and 100mile range if the specs say 28mph and 30mile range?

If it was that easy then why don't they sell it in that configuration and gain some real interest? I suspect this is meant to be an electric moped and it's limited by moped construction and use regulations. I guess it'd be alot easier to make them in moped configuration as they'd probably have to change alot of parts to make it meet motorcycle legislation.

I get them limiting speed for more range and stay inside the legal requirements, but why limit your range?

And at that price I'm still far keener on a late two stroke 50cc twist and go that you could stick an abnoxious noisy pipe on to make it just as illegal.

Its not a big enough step up from a nice 15mph E-bike for my money, so an E-bike for commuting and a proper bike that's not ULEZ compliant (read cheap) for everything else.

No it doesn't, not the 1 he's on about, it's equivalent to a 125.

Ok fine, but with electric vehicles moreso than IC vehicles, speed cuts range. So you'll never get the range if you take it up to 60mph, so derestricting one will merely reduce the range significantly.

My solution -

Seriously. I have one of these for commuting as the girlfriend uses the car. 12 miles one way in 9 to 5 traffic and its great fun. I can just about squeeze £6.50 of petrol in it and get over 150 miles!

Doing 60 on one would be like doing 70 on a normal 125. Possible, but a lot of work.

Its more that the fact they can do 60 suggests they get up to 45-50 quick enough to work as urban commuters, where the highest speed limit you are likely to come across is 40. Likewise for the range, 60 miles means I can comfortably commute for a couple of days (15 miles a day) and then recharge at half full, or always enough left in the batteries for a divert.

Very tempting to me. Doesn't make sense economically, but that isn't why it appeals. I'm interested in riding an electric bike, and I'm very interested in getting enough solar panels and leisure batteries in my garage to charge it. Again, not economically effective, but I'm tempted because of the project, not the numbers.

180Nm of torque?! Fuck me, that’ll shift from a standstill - the H2R only has 165Nm.

Having seen the slower one I can confirm they are pretty nippy.
