Has anyone on here got any experience with these new fangled hybrid mattresses?

Our current mattress is shot at 12 years old and we should have replaced it ages ago.

We had our eye on the Hypnos mattresses that Premier Inn use as we've both always had a good nights sleep on them, but would appreciate the experiences of people who've used these new ones - especially as they have these 100 night to 1 year warranty on some of them!

Cheers Thumbs Up

Yep,

I ordered an Otty and returned it after about 2 months under their 100 Night guarantee.

good quality product, It just didn't suit me - was a little too firm for my liking.

However, Delivery...Collection and full refund all happened without a hitch.

We have ended up with a Loaf Mattress. tried it in a bricks and mortar store.

Interesting. I was looking at the Otty as a potential purchase.
I had been looking at the Leesa, but I have a curved slat base and apparently they might not work so well those. My current mattress is a pocket spring rated as firm, must be over 15 years old.

Ours is a pocket sprung with memory foam topper but its absolutely roasting, some of these new mattresses claim to have some kind of cooling gel layers above a memory foam topper, with 14cm pocket sprung cores - which sound ideal.

I think the Otty and Emma both have this, rather than just being differing layers of foam.

I've got one of those Simba mattresses, best one I've ever had. Temperature does seem more stable, cooler when you need it etc.

It's also a lot firmer than any previous mattress we've had, but once you get used to that it's great.

Funny story (maybe!): My brother recently got a new mattress in the sale from a Johnny Lew type store, it was something crazy like £5k reduced to £800 and the last one available. Problem was it was too big - emperor size instead of king or suchlike, making the width ok but to long to fit his existing base.
He got it home and chopped the end of it, then sewed it back together - seems to have worked for him! Laughing

I spent a lot of time researching them and comparing - there are stores like next etc that stock some of these mattresses so you can go and try one.

The simba has springs but they are small and sit on the top rather than as part of the base. I would not be able to offer any recommendation on the actual product as ultimately it’s what suits you. I really like this loaf mattress we got - they also make lovely furniture.
