PostPosted: 16:55 - 14 Apr 2019    Post subject: Hello Reply with quote

Hi all, I'm new to the forum.

I've been riding motorbikes for almost 40 years.

I have a question.

I have been watching some videos on Youtube.

I have noticed that many bikes, are revving their engines, and not using their horns.

What is all that about?

It seems they are revving to show their displeasure at the idiots.

However I really can't see that anyone in a car could hear the revving?

Thanks

They call it "rev-bombing" - I see it out and about, mainly of kids on 125's. I think a lot of them forget it helps, but only with a bigger/louder motor, in conjunction with a horn. It does not work on it's own on a 125 that sounds like a car farting in a paper bag.

My V4 with no baffle and the horn? They pay attention. My 125 cruiser? They don't even realise you're there. It takes a squishing, or near miss, to get through that it doesn't work.

You can hear me revving any of my bikes when in a car. My newest one sets off car alarms.

I'd be really surprised if you owned a 125 with a stock exhaust though.

I tend to do it when an ignorant cunt has positioned their car/van/truck so I can't filter past them.
I follow it up with a wobble when they finally get the fuck out of my way.

Then your bike isn't obnoxious enough, change that.

Using the horn is for common oiks
As I pass I wait until they can see my 'polite' vest then I shake my head in a very disapproving manner.

Do you walk into someone elses house and start shouting the odds? Because that's akin to what you did here.

Horns are shit, engines make more noise.

If you are comparing this against yours, then your bike isn't obnoxious enough, change that.

I read your post, you seemed dense. Didn't want to make you struggle through more text.
