We can probably all fit in one big tent. Smile

The forum is dead dontcha know!

I'd be up for it this year if the dates work, I actually have a bike this summer, which is an improvement on last summer.

I'm guessing the usual organisers are a bit put off after last year, and sort of understandably so.

Maybe we could find a proper camp site as a halfway house, less organisation required. I know of a suitable place but it's down here in London which is a bit naff for most people.

I'm easy really Thumbs Up

^^^Goalposts were moved plus players didn't get their subs in on time.
Match postponed.

I was going to make a post about this years bbq, I was gutted that it didn't go ahead last year tbh.

My personal opinion is there were lots of questions that could/should have been asked, but I'm not going to go in to that here.

Even though I've got an expensive trip planned later this year, I'd have still found time and money to attend another bbq

It would be better to start organising a BBQ for 2020 with a single date that is fixed and a location to suit.

It would be great if Bubbs could do his thing again.

Or someone could just say "Well I'm gonna spend my hols camping in this field XYZ with a frying pan, a half ounce of weed and a guitar" and see who turns up to join them.

I dunno, seems much less stressful than the other way.

Yup, plenty of other gatherings for people to go to and invite people too if they post them on the events forum (assuming they want to invite other people Laughing )

Being in the basement of "not a grown man" putting lotion on his skin does not constitute "buggering off".

Last year fell through because we had a fixed cost to use the motoX track. That cost had to be covered no matter how many attended. As more and more people dropped out, it became uneconomic to go ahead.

If we could find a venue that was either free, or charged by the tent or bike or person, we could still organise a BBQ. Might be tight for 2019 though Crying or Very sad

I'm more than happy (if no-one else wants to do it) to collect monies, organise food & booze and anything else, but not find the venue.
Past years have been great. I for one have enjoyed facilitating things and had a great time with all you mad people who populate BCF Very Happy

So, if anyone can find and verify a venue that can survive having BCF for a weekend.........lets do it.

BCF BBQ? Would go again.

The only reason I haven't gone is that it's been on the same week as the Llan BikeFest.

I'm game otherwise, I'm kinda partial to sitting in a field, drunk, chatting shit about bikes, otherwise known as going to a rally.

I like the idea, but it's the camping part I don't fancy. I'm far more interested in being comfortable than sociable.

If we can cope with London then there is a camp site at Debden that has an adult field, allows camp fires and music, and is generally fairly chilled out.

The only exception is that they expect noise kept to a minimum after 11pm and they enforce it fairly strictly with security patrols and stuff. Oh, and fire wood has to be bought on site.

See attachment, fields 6 and 7 are suitable. They cater for large groups too if we give them notice.
