Hello, i've just picked up a 1981 Suzuki GS550L from a buddy of mine, I dont know a whole lot about electrical as i'm more savy with mechanical parts. The CDI from this bike is toast and i've ordered points to get it running but am not satisfied with the spark. I cannot find a CDI for this bike in my price range and was wondering if any other CDIs would work from the bigger model bikes? CDI from the GS550L Model number is 32900-47020, the bigger bikes such as the GS750, GS850 etc, is 32900-45110, What are the main differences between the CDIs? And would it effect getting one from an 850 and putting it on my 550? Thanks for any help in advance.

It's very likely possible, I doubt someone here will pop up and say no problem I just did it.
But someone might be able to direct you to a good source of info
