This has most probably been covered but searches are not showing up and I am on a busy night shift. So here it goes

I have a standard set of gauges. Needle and digital ODO etc. It stopped working and works from time to time. I found the fuse had blown and replaced it. It worked for a test ride. Then went to start again and nothing. Occasionally it bounces the needles... sometimes even without the ignition switched on. Cant see and dry solder joints on the speedo PCB and no burnt tracks. Correct voltages going in where they should. What am I missing?

You dodn't put the fuse in properly or the fuse is crap.

Replace the fuse.

A bad earth would cause it to blow the fuse all the time, bad power (i.e;. fuse side) wouldn't.
