I have a bodged performance pipe in my garage....... (part aprilia Confused) I got a ton using it BUT your fairings won't fit!

Arrow is definately the nicest for an NSR, saw an old end can on a race NSR - looked really good - sounded better!

im still not convinced race pipes help that much:?

i spose the race pipe is a lot lighter so you get that advantage?

Most of what I've heard about full race pipes (and I presume 2 strokes are included), is that they don't actually significantly help on stock settings. But they will let tuning stuff work, as they letr the engine breathe more easily.

You can expect a 2-4% increase just with a full system on a 2-smoker. Not really woth the cash TBH. V4's and inliners can expect around 6-8%.

An exhaust on a 2 stroke is one of the best ways to increase power bar nothing an RD with stock pipe 12hp with alspeed exhaust 21hp (the stock exhaust is what limits power so if you bike is deristrited already it will not improve performance by that sort of margin rds are 16hp deristricted, try www.stanstephens.com he sells exhausts for NSR's but the ones for teh RD's are not much good for the road as they dont work below 8,500rpm race track material but he sells arrows exhausts aswell and he also sells jolly moto pipes theyre superb italian made exhausts and are cheaper than arrows also try Giannelli or swarbrick they make nice exhauts and as the man above said nikons are the dogs, the majority of good pipes that add power will require you
rejetting either that or run lean and blow up

I Took this off stan stephens website explaining the function of the expansion chamber

Expansion chambers are an integral part of the design of the two stroke engine, they are not just pipes to let the gases out A.S.A.P. the purpose of the expansion chamber is to scavenge (or suck) the burnt gases out of the cylinder, but at the same time stop the fresh gases leaving the cylinder. As the time the exhaust port opens until it closes is measured in thousandths of a second you can see that the design of a expansion chamber is critical.
Bike manufacturers have to make the standard exhausts to reach many criteria, most of them not concerned with performance, so well designed expansion chambers can give big increases in power.

hope this helps
