Careful with that one, though.
A woman of a certain age might think you were trying to bribe her with sex toys.

That would be funny if you walk into the bedroom and she’s doing rude things with a rubber toy dog’s bone Shocked Laughing

Me: Excuse me McDonald's, but why out of all of the fast food chains, are you the only ones that give cycle couriers fizzy drinks in dispensing cups, instead of sealed cans or bottles.

McDonald's: Because FUCK YOU! That's why.

Hey! McDonalds is holy ground. You can't say that! They've already changed far too much.

I still haven't forgiven them for switching from dripping to hydrogenated veg oil for frying in 1992. Their recent salt reduction in their fries is inexcusable... Every change ruins something at McD.

Can I say wasps again? Sting number 4 - on my leg this time because I dared wear shorts.
Going to hunt wasp nests down and burn the buggers.

Don't do what my neighbour did and spot a hole halfway up the house. He broke through the outer skin with a lump-hammer and took a blowtorch to the nest. How we laughed when the fire engines arrived....

If you have time, this is surprisingly easy to do. What do you work as, if you work? Something "outdoors" ISTR. I destroyed some nests using Cymag, but you can't get it any more, which grinds my gears. There are decent alternatives. I haven't seen a wasp this year (except for old queens).

I don’t mind wasps, they keep the fly numbers down especially in the countryside where I live.

Feeling good generally today, but can't do anything because I've hurt my back (further Rolling Eyes ) and need to rest. It's fine while I'm at rest, and to be gently active, but no more. Hope I haven't added more permanent issues.

Trod on my glasses. £400 worth. Sad

I was rushing to get to work. I had my lid on and started the bike, but realised I forgot earplugs. So I took my glasses off, put them on the tank, got earplugs and put them in, put my lid on and then got on the bike... I heard a noise and so put the stand down to find out what the noise was, and as I did so I trod on my glasses.

Confused Crying or Very sad

I've had them a few years, and it turns out even though I spent £400 on the frames... you can now buy the same frames for £100 online. So I suspect I'm being ripped off by the Oakley Luxottica hedgemony.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Luxottica#Monopolistic_pricing_practices

I didn't damage the lenses, and the frames are bent but I'm not sure if they can be salvaged.

Esteemed Daughter is extremely upset about state of her father (understandably).

It also dawned on her that even though I am as fabulous as Endora, as infallible as the Pope, and a generally amazeballs mother, I am probably not immortal, and that has really upset her.

It breaks my heart to see my child so distraught.
If only I could find the cure for death and fragility ... *sigh*

Apologies for running into a phone box and re-appearing as Pedant-Man, but a Nuclear reactor is hardly on the same level of destruction as nuclear biological or chemical weapons.

What we probably should be worrying about is the 80 or so thermonuclear weapons that the former soviet states have... err... mislaid!

Oh yes... I can't knock the man though as he collects two-strokes and occasionally lets me ride them. At present he has an RGV 250, 350YPVS, KE175, RD400, two RD125LCs, an H1 500 and a big, pink GT750. This is probably a good indication of his mental health! As you can imagine my immediate concern when the fire brigade arrived was that his garage was on fire.....

And after all of that, you're still more likely to die of natural causes, or get hit by a bus. Why waste life worrying about random chance we can't control?

I can't. When we went to pick it up I told him it looked like a dildo on steroids, but it is actually a nice bike to ride in a 70s sedate kind of way. First thing we did though when we got it off the trailer was try to wheelie it up our street, much to the chagrin of the curtain-twitchers Laughing

The clue is in the name: GT. Add pink, and I don't know what to think Laughing Knock him until he replaces it with an H2. Then he can have metallic purple with a pink stripe and no one will bat an eyelid Laughing
