Isn't it more a case of it having extended our ideas of how physics works? Some of Einstein's work is still among the best physics theory we have, isn't it?
I see it more a case of a separate field within physics, some of which overlaps into what we knew before, and some of which doesn't*. 'Physics' is very wide-ranging in what it covers.

^^^These days they use chemical additives to give mortar additional properties. Blood mixed with lime, sand and sometimes grit obviously works as most heritage structures are still standing.
It wasn't common practise but for certain structures like aqueducts, then it was often used. ____________________ Diabolical homemade music Bandcamp and Soundcloud

Convenient how blood was more useful than piss.
So you have to kill things, rather than just go for a slash.
Life's so complicated.

More like, what can we do with all this ox blood now the butcher has had what they needed?
Tell yer what, pour some in this mix.
FFWD>> a decade or so.
Hey-up Bill, that wall we built looks as good as the day we built it.
T'other one without it, dun't look as good. Yer can see where t'weather is getting at it.
Well fuck me gently and call me Derek. Who would've thought it.
Dunnae matter now Bill, they've got this fancy cement stuff.
A word for word account of how and why they briefly used ox blood in a lime mortar mix. ____________________ Diabolical homemade music Bandcamp and Soundcloud

Yeah, extended is a better word, and yeah it's correct that physics is mainly a load of specialist areas which overlap into each other.
It's not about Einstein's though. He came up with relativity, and none of that was altered by quantum mechanics. QM changed our understanding of how matter exists at very small scales, regardless of whether it's stationary or travelling at light speed (Einstein's area).
Overlap in physics isn't necessarily decided by scale, but I think your thought process is correct. Quantum and classical mechanics are separated by an arbitrary cut-off point at which everything must be calculated using QM equations. The cut-off point isn't strictly defined though. I think generally it depends on the size and nature of the atoms/particles/photons you're dealing with. |

I mentioned Einstein because I'm a layman, not a student or professor of physics, so he, of course, readily springs to mind. But as I understand it, he had some of the ideas about quantum mechanics wrong, subsequently proved so by others. Of course, that doesn't take away from what he did achieve. ____________________ Chickenystripgeezer's Biking Life (Latest update 19/10/18) Belgium, France, Italy, Austria tour 2016 Picos de Europa, Pyrenees and French Alps tour 2017 Scotland Trip 1, now with BONUS FEATURE edit, 5/10/19, on page 2 Scotland Trip 2 Luxembourg, Black Forest, Switzerland, Vosges Trip 2017

I saw this video about how flatworms fight with their penises and I immediately thought of this thread.
It's a video about penis fencing so some people might consider it not work safe.
