Oh, whatever. You told people that O2 roaming charges cost a small fortune and data abroad was slow. What you failed to mention was that you're referring excursively to one situation in the United States, not Europe where most people on this forum need roaming. In most of Europe O2 roaming is free on pay monthly and data is as good as any as they're owned by Telefonica.

I thought I might highlight the incorrect and misleading, crap information you were giving people. Rolling Eyes

Maybe you missed it again Sally, so I’ll highlight it again for you...

depending where you go.

It’s not just the states, there’s also daily charges for most of South East Asia, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Singapore, I could go on really but I won’t bother. Rolling Eyes all free of charge on my plan btw

For someone so Anti EU establishment, you sure do seem to think it’s the only place that matters/exists, guess that might be true for you.

I have nothing helpful to add into this thread other than reading it prompted me to check my current contract (expired last month), call up my provider (EE) and save myself £5 a month.

So thanks BCF! I am now slightly better off each month Thumbs Up

I'm not. I'm still pissed off at EE for not renewing the contract I had.

I think I will go to carphone warehouse, tell them what I want and see if they can deliver.

Have a look on their website and then you can see how much more expensive they are when compared to other retailers. Mr. Green

O2 doesn't offer the exact same contracts so its difficult to compare like for like exactly. For the same price I could get less data or for more money I could go up to the next data band which I wouldn't be using.

3 is more expensive but unlimited data (again - I don't need it) but I might look at changing to them next year for the international roaming.

The vast majority of Brits needing roaming will be in Europe, where roaming is free and data connection as good as any, so this bollocks wasn't good advice as it doesn't apply to the vast majority does it Tarquin?

The missus is still with them, they’re roaming access is atrocious and costs a small fortune depending where you go.

Incidentally, cutting through your incorrect self opinionated sh1te, Vodafone is actually more expensive than O2 in the USA by 20%.

https://www.vodafone.co.uk/explore/costs/travelling-abroad/

https://www.o2.co.uk/international/travel-inclusive-zone

Get over yourself.

Again, caveated with depending where you go

When did I say anything about Vodafone you daft Lickspittle?

Yet completely free and faster on my contract , including the places mentioned above, oh yes and most of South America, unlike o2, which charges daily for data, £5 a day iirc.

Let’s see how long we can keep this up shall we.

Try harder Susan

Do you want the expensive new 'phone, or is what you've got already good enough?

Why would anyone want to travel outside of Europe anyway? I suppose if one were doing a PhD on primitive cultures...

Now where did I leave my Pith Helmet?

I've got a cheapy Motorola G6 Play which does me fine. Wifies S7 is starting to struggle with battery life so I'm going to have to replace that at some point whether I do it on a phone contract or outright.

You could have a new battery put in the S7 by Samsung or someone else, prices seem to be £40+.

I'm not keen on contracts, 'cos all sorts of offers appear from time to time, so easy-change monthly is good. I bought a new phone (Umidigi A3 pro, which ably does all I need it to do, £80), and a monthly contract from Smarty (=Three).

There are lots and lots of choices out there.....

All of that aside, you know roughly how many minutes you need and how much data you need so that's all the information you need to find out which sim card is the best deal for you. Wink
